Tequila's Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Northwood

Hands down the worst Mexican place I've ever eaten at. Either the people giving good reviews are fake or have never had authentic Mexican food. The wait time for food was forever. Mexican places are known to be quick serve. Not here. We were gonna walk out but i asked how long after 20 min and she said its just up. There was maybe only 2 waiters/tress . Our waitress was running back and forth like she should but obviously understaffed on the floor and in the kitchen. I got tacos and barely could eat them since it was 1 corn tortilla. Usually street tacos require 2 for this matter. The meat was over cooked and hard. Their Mexican style was weird...included fried onions [ over salted] and chopped up jalapeños. Normally it's just raw onions and cilantro. Good thing I like spicy food cuz what if i didn't? My fiance got the burrito special and that was the worse ground beef ever. It wasn't warm...not even browned...looked like cat food and tasted disgusting. Paid and got the heck out of there. We regret not walking away...

EDIT: Your defensive response clearly solidifies my review. I'm not an idiot and can tell the difference between jalapenos and pico. You trying to dumb me down makes me want to blast your restaurant even more. Most places are small business family owned but doesn't give it an excuse to have terrible food. You are still and will be the worst Mexican place...

Can anyone put a smile on? From out of town and was Just wanting simple cheese sauce. Said my order would be ready at the time I arrived. Stood around for 8 mins and no one said hi. They all passed me and couldn't even offer a smile. Someone who came to help me but wasn't familiar with the system. A lady rudely pushed me out of the way to tell him about my extra 4 percent charge because I didn't have cash. Then stood around again as I watched them serve food but no one had my take out. Finally asked a lady to check on my food because I need to leave. About another 3 mins later it came out. Now if I waited I expected it to be hot only to be around the corner from The store. It was cold. Had to reheat the chesse and food to even eat it. Not impressed at all. Idk what you consider busy but two tables and a small party is far from Busy from where I am From. Please save your time and go into mason city. Least at Las Palmas I will get a smile right away and a greeting that someone will be right with me. Wont be ignored and a nuisance for spending my...

We went there for my daughter's bday. There was a wait (which is a little expected). When we finally got to sit down, it took the waitress about 10 minutes to bring us chips/salsa and take our order for drinks. Then when they came, it only took a few minutes (which was good). Then she came back about 10 minutes later to take our food order. But what really got me, was we had to wait 20+ minutes for a refill (and there wasn't that many ppl there at that time). It took about 45 minutes to get our food. My childrens drinks were empty for a while. I had to ask her for a refill for them, she never asked. She was not very friendly. And she was slow. When we received our food, it was a little cool (one of the plates), the nachos made my sons stomach hurt, and the food had a taste that it was a cheaper food. And in the bathroom in the back bathroom, there was some kind of liquid on the floor coming from the toilet. We will most likely not return. And when we lived in Northwood, it was a favorite...
