This restaurant is almost always packed, so you would assume the food would be decent! We called ahead because my husband in handicap and we wanted to be sure we wouldn’t have to wait too long. Luckily we didn’t. They took us in and seated us right away. However, the sun was shining straight into my husband‘s eyes and no availability to have him moved to a different location. We started with drinks. Mine was absolutely disgusting. I ordered a skinny margarita and as odd as this sounds, it truly tasted like it was on its way back up. Next, we ordered the Parmesan crusted gnocchi, which was overcooked and just tasteless. My husband ordered the steak tips as his main dish. They were completely undercooked although I will admit the flavor was delicious. Had they been cooked properly? It would have been a fantastic meal for him. I ordered a chicken salad and yes, I did read the description however I still felt it was odd to have tortilla strips and sesame noodles both on the chicken salad, it was like a Mexican Asian fusion salad. The horrible margarita was taken off the bill, which we very much appreciated. We did have a gift card so half of the Dinner was paid. Despite the less than satisfactory meal, the service was fairly good, although we did have to wait about 15 minutes for the waitress to bring our check, And we attempted to get her attention multiple times. We had to ask another waitress to get our waitress for us. We really really wanted to love it at goat city pub because it always seems like it’s packed full unfortunately we had a less than satisfactory meal maybe just an off night in...
Read moreI visited the GOAT City Pub a week and a half ago with my wife and found the food to be okay for pub food. I had the clam chowder and the fish and chips. The clam chowder was a little different than what you would expect for New England clam chowder. It was thick and filling, but with a smoky flavor to it. Probably not in the top five clam chowders I have had, but something I may try again in the future. I am not and have never been a fan of coleslaw. I asked the waitress to hold the coleslaw and to my surprise she asked me if I would like something in exchange for that. I asked her for onion rings and she was happy to oblige. The combination of chowder and fish and chips with the onion rings was way more than I could eat for lunch, so I took my leftovers home and had another meal for dinner the next day. I went back to GOAT City again today and tried the chili, which I did not find very good. But I did re-up on the fish and chips, once again with some onion rings in lieu of the coleslaw. GOAT City has some average pub food with twists on various items. They have at least one vegan option and also have pub style pizza that I may try in the future. The pizza seems to be at a reasonable price. If you found my review helpful, please give me a thumbs up and feel free to check out some of my other...
Read moreOne of the bartenders took over 20 minutes to greet me and another 20 to make my drink. Then over an hour to finally take my food order. And then I saw these two girls get up and tell the bartenders they’d be right back and she took their stuff behind the bar and sat other people in their seats within 30 seconds. Then the blonde bartender there came up to them and yelled in their faces that she was gonna “drag them across the bar” for swearing at the other bartender when they just asked for their stuff back. I was literally sitting three seats over and they never swore at her. Then the blonde bartender immediately came around the bar and got in their face screaming and her and again threatening to drag her across the floor. This was my first time here and I will say the way they treat their customers is horrible. I also overheard that short bartender giving two boys who looked 12 crazy attitude and giving them drinks without an ID. Worst experience I’ve ever had trying out a new place I definitely would NEVER recommend...
