Mac & Walt's — Restaurant in Norton

First off, i need to say that i had a great burger which was the Pen and Pasture. The burger was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor and texture. It was supposed to also have pulled pork on it but that was basically non existent. The jicama slaw added great crunch and the mustard sauce wouldve been a great finish if in fact the pork was noticeable. Not sure where the cheddar cheese was in the mix so that too was on the light side. But for 11.50 i would expect a burger that would require me to use both hands to lift and devour and the fries should be included! Not the case here so lets just stay positive and say it is quality over quantity. My date had cheeseburger sliders which she also thought were cooked perfectly and she ordered a side of fries which were fresh and not over salted. We started with the fish tacos which were extremely bland except for the aioli. The cabbage was too thick comparatively to the fish and pico so it overpowered both in flavor and texture. The aioli was really good fortunately and i wish they made that flavor in a toothpaste... Only 3 stars given for these reasons. 1. Pricing is very high for portion size and lack of included sides. 2. It is really loud in there!!! No way you can have an individual conversation with someone. Essentially it is like everyone in there is talking to each other and you just answer to whomever is the loudest,which may or may not be the person(s) you are there with! They do have an excellent beer and bourbon selection so if you are interested in that just bring the earbuds and sit at the bar and enjoy. All my comments above aside--...

HANDS DOWN THE BEST AROUND!!!

Over the last 10 years doing shows at the Xfinity center, our crew has had the opportunity to experience a lot of the local flavor that the Mansfield area has to offer –– Mac & Walt's, without a doubt, blows the rest of them away!

To start, Tony is the most accommodating, communicative, and easy to work with person one could imagine. I can't think of a better example of the definition of customer service –– he went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a great one, so THANK YOU Tony!

If that wasn't enough, the food was equally as awesome! With 40+ people in our crew, we probably sampled just about everything Mac & Walt's menu has to offer, and ALL of it was AMAZING! Each order was spot on, piping hot (even with it being delivered), and delicious from first bit to last!

Finally, and a big deal in my business, this huge to go order was ready on time, bagged / labeled per our request, with NOT ONE MISTAKE. The attention to detail and effort put forth by all members of this staff was all-star to say the least, and something we rarely run across!

Long story short, couldn't have been more happy that we happened across Mac & Walt's, and we'll all be looking forward dining with them again the next time we roll through Mansfield!

The burgers here are always fantastic, I’ve eaten here many times. But this is the first time I’ve severely disappointed in eating Chicken & Waffles off of their menu. Was served a waffle and a single floppy large chicken tender, I was expecting maybe a drumstick or thigh- but I suppose an extra slab of meat from the kid’s meal was suitable. Now, I am unsure if it is because I’ve lived in the south and have tasted decent fried chicken before- Or if it North East custom to fry it to a rock solid crisp. The batter used for the chicken was entirely flavorless, and the meat tasted watery with the remote aftertaste of chicken. The waffle was rather burnt, and I didn’t expect anything other than box mix but please make sure it’s more of a yellow and less of a black brown next time. Syrup was rather good although coming from an industrial can I’m sure, don’t expect anything fantastic just something edible. Butter was in a lake of oil, with an odd congealed texture to it. Looks as if it was abandoned in the storerooms for awhile. I am sure if it wasn’t take out the display of butter and syrup would have been better the meal itself of higher quality. Burgers and fried pickles never disappoint, but stay away from the so-called “Chicken & Waffles”. I will stick to my fried pickles addiction, thank...
