Wolf Creek Tavern exceeded all of our expectations and gave us a dining experience we won’t forget! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. Every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of, setting the tone for a fantastic evening.

For dinner, I chose the Black Peppercorn Burger, and it was outstanding — cooked to perfection, juicy, and packed with bold, savory flavor. The peppercorn aioli gave it just the right kick without overpowering the rich taste of the beef. To drink, I ordered a "Scotty Doesn't Know," and it was just as impressive — expertly crafted, refreshing, and a perfect complement to the meal. You can tell the bartenders at Wolf Creek really take pride in what they do.

My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and it was easily one of the best versions of the dish we've ever had. What really sets it apart is how they serve it: instead of the traditional pasta, it comes over a bed of homemade gnocchi. The gnocchi were light, pillowy, and clearly made with care — such a unique and delicious twist that elevated the dish to a whole new level.

Everything from the flavors to the presentation to the overall vibe was spot-on. It's clear Wolf Creek Tavern pays attention to the little details that turn a good meal into a memorable one. We’re already looking forward to coming back and trying even more from the menu. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and a truly...

We were planning to celebrate a friend’s birthday but it was rather disappointing. I called ahead since the speakeasy had limited hours to confirm it would be open. I was told the speakeasy would be open to the public at 6:00 so we made a 7:00 reservation for the restaurant. When we arrived at 6:00 after an hour long drive, we found out the speakeasy was booked and closed to the public until 8:00. We were not able to be seated until 7:00 so we had drinks at the bar which was fine. The restaurant was cold and drafty but had character. Once seated at 7:00, we ordered drinks and appetizers but then we didn’t have our dinner order taken for nearly a half hour. They were out of the entree I wanted so I had to quickly find something else to order. As we sat and waited and people were leaving the restaurant, we kept waiting for our food. The waitress came to the table to tell one of my friends that they were out of mashed potatoes for his order and to see what he wanted instead. Again we waited. They brought us cold chips which we devoured because we were hungry. We waited until 9:00 to get our food order with no apology, no discount, and no explanation. We had our food boxed up and we left. Very disappointing and we...

For as long as you have to wait for food to be served you would think the waitress would have repeated and asked questions before submitting our order, especially when we stated it was our first time here! When it finally came out she set it down and walked off. After waiting for her to return I explained the problem with one of the orders and she claimed that she assumed what I wanted and rudely stated it could be remade but it would take another hour! I told her no thank you and to please bring our check! When she brought the check I quickly looked over the receipt as I was handing her the payment and she slammed the check down and walked away. I am sorry that you don’t have a minute for your customers. This was a very disappointing experience! I wish I knew the name of the waitress because she will drive your customers away with her unprofessional service! There was nothing on that menu that would make me want to wait an hour to receive nor wait another hour to have it made correctly because a waitress didn’t take the time to confirm I wanted this and not that when there was a choice...

If these walls could talk, as I say every time we dine at Wolf creek tavern! Built in 1840, the tavern has plenty of character and colorful history which is one reason we love this local gem. We haven’t been to the prohibition-era basement speakeasy in the winter (we plan to) but 2 private tours has us hooked to ensure we do (picture #2). We’ve never had anything but extraordinary meal experiences with ourselves, friends and our kids. The gnocchi and hanger steak (photo #1) is hands down my favorite! We have tried almost everything on the menu: here’s our must entree recommends: the tavern burger with homemade chips, homemade fish sticks (salmon filled nonetheless), bone in pork chop, filet with amazing sides, or a chipotle grilled chicken club. Start with the spicy cauliflower, confit wings, fried brussel sprouts or the colossal crab cakes a few of our go-to favorites. Stop eating at chain owned restaurants and support this family owned and run Norton, OH historical gem! You won’t be disappointed!!

We stopped in on a busy Saturday evening & grabbed a seat at the bar in lieu of the hour wait. We didn't make reservations but they are highly recommended! The bartenders were very busy so service was not the greatest, but not their fault. We got the margherita flatbread & the loaded potato flatbread. The latter was pretty bland & not at all "loaded". But, alas, the margherita one was delish! I also had Downeast blackberry cider for the first time and it was soooo good! Afterward, we slipped through an inconspicuous door and down the rickety stairs and there we were, transported back in time to another era, when alcohol was prohibited. This place was a real functioning speakeasy during prohibition, as well, it is said, as a stop on the underground railroad. The bartender was charming & shared some cool insights with us. The drinks served are authentic prohibition era recipes. We got the Mary Pickford, it was wonderful, garnished with delicious Luxardo cherries from Italy. Will definitely go back!
