Mingo Creek Tavern — Restaurant in Nottingham Township

I recently had the misfortune of dining at Mingo Creek Tavern, and despite the decent food, the overall experience was absolutely dreadful due to the horrendous service. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. Here's a detailed account of my visit:

Service: Throughout the meal, the waiter was inattentive, disappearing for long stretches of time and leaving us to fend for ourselves. We had to flag down other staff members multiple times just to get basic necessities like water refills and napkins.

Ordering and Food: When we finally managed to place our order, the waiter seemed disinterested and impatient, barely making eye contact and scribbling down our requests without any acknowledgment. It took an unreasonable 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and when they did, the waiter merely dropped them on the table without checking if we needed anything else. The entrees took even longer, and by the time they arrived, we were already frustrated and hungry.

Food Quality: Despite the atrocious service, I must admit that the food was quite good. The flavors were well-balanced, and the dishes were prepared with evident skill. Wanted to visit a couple of times before rating this place. 1st, the remodel is awesome. Huge bar with multiple TV’s. Lots of open space as well as an outside deck. Aesthetically pleasing. Menu has some unique option such as reuben tater tots, which were different but good. Sandwiches and salads were good. The place was pretty busy with a crowd comprised of golfers (it’s next to a public course) motor cycle riders, families and couples. Service was efficient (sat at the bar) but NOT overly friendly. Not rude, but maybe they are just tired of being ogled for wearing yoga pants and half shirts… The beer prices are a bit steep for a place in the middle of nowhere, but food prices are very reasonable for the quality. 8/13/24. Arrived at about 5:15 PM. The specials sign outside of the front door said there was "Bingo" at 6. When we walked in the place was only about half full and numerous tables were marked as "reserved" We found a seat at an open table right by the front door and right next to the bar and had seat. Sat for over 15 minutes and were ignored by numerous servers including one who was working on the "Please seat yourself" sign right inside the door and right next to us. I have been here a couple of times now and enjoyed the food though the atmosphere was a bit weak.
