I had heard so many great things about Wicked Hi Cafe from a few co workers over the past few days and I couldn't wait to try it myself. I decided to go on Saturday October 10th and sadly I was disappointed. The look and feel of the cafe is very down the earth, local vibes and I loved it. I was able to sign in for dine in services with no problem. When I arrived there was five people waiting for food already. When I walked in I wasn't immediately greeted, instead I stood there awkwardly for a few minutes while I waited for someone to take my order. After a few minutes I was finally greeted by a young lady, who was really nice, and told me my order would be about 20 min. I order the vanilla Brioche Waffle and two slushies. As I was waiting for my food it appeared everyone else in there had been waiting a really long time as well. Eventually one lady asked for her money back because it was taking too long after she had been waiting for 30 min for a bagel...a bagel! The young lady kept apologizing for how long it took and gave a her some fresh sourdough bread to take with her. About 10min later a guy from a table of four approached asking about his order because they had been waiting for so long. It took another 15 for his order to come out and they also gave sourdough bread and slushies to the keki. I waited 43 min to get my Waffle. And when I got it it wasn't really that hot as I was expecting a fresh Waffle to be. The flavor was nice and I enjoyed the different sauces with it. After my Waffle my daughter and I got our slushies. I was really disappointed in the flavor and lack of honey on them both. I actually had to ask for more honey for them both. Overall the Cafe is a cute little spot, the flavors are good for food, don't have super high expectations on the slushies (it's just ice at the end of the day) BUT THE WAIT TIME AND SERVICE...
Read moreThis is absolutely tragic. I've been coming here for years I knew the previous owners. Idk who took this over but they are defacing the good name of this business. The staff is obviously under paid and untrained. No welcome as your enter or prompt to order. Once you order you have to wait 30 min while you watch 4 people in the kitchen aimlessly making something. I always the get the Italian. I can tell even the ingredients aren't the same quality. From the flour in the sourdough, to the meat and cheese in the sandwich. Also while I'm eating one side of the sammy it's full of meat which is great but kinda missing the other ingredients I've come to love. Then I start on the second side, no meat. They folded the sandwich wrong and cut it so I couldn't even correct the mistake if I tried. I got my boyfriend the turkey and also underwhelming. The bread was soggy, barely any meat and really no flavor other than wet excuse for lettuce. Another cherry on top was the answer to my question of why they didn't answer the phone. I tried to call in an hour prior and didn't get picked up. The cashier said it it gets busy they don't answer the phone. When we walked in there was 4 people in there. You're making coffee and sandwiches, not sure why you're overwhelmed with 4 people working in the kitchen. Owners need to train their workers better, or find some employees that are happy to work for them. Won't be spending any of my hard earned money...
Read moreWhen visiting the North Shore, Haleiwa / Waialua, Wicked HI Cafe, is a great little spot to come get some high quality breakfast / lunch / snack type food in the healthy side of things. Some notable dishes, are the bacon, egg, and cheddah sour dough pita breakfast sandwich, with tomatoes (was the bomb!). The waffles with fruit are really tasty, and the sourdough pizzas are great. The dough is all made in house. The vegies, are all locally grown and organic. Locally sourced honey, is a big focus of this eatery, and it's all for sale, as well as incorporated into the food, and coffee. Art is also a huge part of this decore and focus of the business, making this a visual, and esthetic experience as well. I recommend highly trying the Honey Slush smoothie after eating, it's filled with fresh raw honey, and local organic fruit such as dragon friut, berries, and maybe mango. But you can try it in coffee, or a total mix of fresh flavors. When coming to North Shore, this is the kind of thing you are trying to find and experience, as opposed to McDonald's. Give it a try, you won't be...
