We were trying to go to another place that had a better rating (4.9) but it was closed when we got there. Apparently many of these places run out of food by early/mid afternoon and close up. So we saw this place and swung by. Service was friendly. Atmosphere has a nice view across the street but a lot of flies. The food was pretty bad.. chicken just tasted like any rotisserie chicken you could get at the grocery store. No flavor. The shrimp was basically a cafeteria shrimp scampi (noodles were just box spaghetti), rice not fried or seasoned worse, the shrimp wasn’t even prepared.. shell on, veined, tail on, poop in shrimp, flavor was ‘ok’ but it was annoying to eat. Needless to say, we got FOOD POISONING. That’s what $43 for 2 meals and sodas off of a food truck will buy you. There are plenty of other truck collectives and restaurants which serve the same stuff heading up towards the north shore. I would steer clear...

I had 4 shrimp, with roughly 4 grams of 'noodles', the rice scoop didn't even have any sauce on it, and the pineapple piece was dry as hell!! None of the 'fresh garlic' or the sauce on the shrimp like how it was advertised in pictures just a ton of oil (?) at the bottom. The shrimp wasn't even peeled, and it was somehow barely hot, even though I had just bought it. Maybe I got a one off bad meal, as the rest of these reviews look great? ..Not sure, but it certainly gave me a laugh when I saw it. For $18 nonetheless!!! For the price and what I got, I'm definitely never going back. Maybe if it was $7 it'd be understandable. Service was great though! + person that came with me got the chicken, which was actually good. Definitely get...

We visited this iconic food truck as part of a sightseeing tour
Ordered a number 2 spicy garlic shrimp and a number 4 huli huli chicken
I don’t understand why Hawaiians serve shrimp (prawns) cooked with the shell on? The shrimp are covered in sauce and are a pain to peal - I did notice some people just eating shell and all 😳
We’ve enjoyed shrimp truck meals on previous visits to Hawaii and prefer these meals served with corn, rice and pineapple, rather than noodles or even salad - personal choice I guess
Likewise, the chicken was messy to eat and a little tough, making the pieces even more difficult to separate
However, there were plenty of shaded picnic tables and a cool breeze blowing, making for a comfortable experience
We were looking forward to enjoying a shrimp truck lunch but left a little...
