Mr golden fish chicken shrimp & more — Restaurant in O’Fallon

To say I am happy with my experience would be an understatement. IT WAS AMAZING! My family and I aren't exactly "fish people" so what brought us here was the shrimp and chicken strips. However my daughter and I decided to try the fish and we were soooo happy we did! It was the best fish I've ever had! My husband, WHO HATES FISH, liked it so much that he wants to go back for more! And the golden sauce complimented the fish perfectly!

We started with fried pickles which were thick and crispy. They were pretty good and came with a pretty large portion.

The red beans and rice were sooooo good! The hint of spice they had was perfect!

I'm really picky about cole slaw and always have a hard time finding some that I like so I didn't order it for myself. My husband ordered it and I tried it and was so upset that I was too full and couldn't eat anymore, otherwise I would've ordered some for myself. It had the perfect sweetness and was so creamy!

The shrimp was pretty good too and my husband and daughter said the chicken was delicious!

When walking into the business I was kindly greeted by the workers. They made lots of great suggestions and helped guide us through their wide range of menu options. We ordered the Mr Golden’s Seafood Deluxe platter with 2 sides.

The wait time to receive our food was decent and they brought out some really delicious homemade sauce (I believe it was called the Mr Golden Sauce) for our food. Overall the meal was very flavorful and seasoned well. The sauce kicked up the flavor even more.

During the meal the employees checked up on us numerous times to see how we were doing and how we liked the food.

Lastly, I feel this a nice staple for the Ofallon area and they will do very well, staying around for a while.

The food here is fantastic, but that's not even the reason for five stars. The owners are the kindest people and went out of their way to help me. We stopped for dinner between multiple hockey games, and in my rush to get everyone back to the rink, I left a crossbody purse hanging on the chair in the restaurant. About an hour later, in a crowded and very loud rink, I got a phone call from a number I didn't know, and on a whim, I answered it. It was the owner of the restaurant. He apologized for opening my purse to get my name and told me he would drop my wallet at my address. He verified my address and even hid it behind my flowers.
