I have been to this place 3 times. The first time I went it was our very first time trying Thai food. I did inform the waitress this as I was not sure what to order. The waitress gave us a min or two but came right back to get our order while we were still looking at the menu. I felt rushed and she wasn’t really friendly. I ended up ordering Lomein noodles and Pineapple fried rice which was very good. The bill was about $35 for the two dishes.
The 2nd time we ordered take out. Got home and notice the entrees smaller portions. $35
This last time called for this review. I took my mother along to try it. The waitress brung my small child a way larger portion of Loméin in noodles but ours were a smaller portion, looked as if we were given scrap. I did ask if we could have more noodles as my young child was given way more. The waitress asked if I wanted to order more. It was noticeably a big difference in the amount of food given on the plates. When leaving, as we dined in, the waitress came to the window and took a picture of my license plate. The other workers could be seen from the window as well. It looked like they were having a convo about us. I did go back inside to ask was everything ok and was told by the waitress...they are wondering why I don’t tip. I was informed they don’t make a lot of money. We did end up tipping that night after that but since leaving that experience hasn’t sat right. Why the license plate picture? Why give us nasty looks from the window and why the smaller food? Why not great customer service? Why tip on a to go order? $52 for 3 dishes.
The food is good. No spice. The customer service not good. The price a bit pricey and obviously devious intentions from the workers. I feel that workers who value tips should value great customer service. The cook deserved the tip certainly not the waitress. We won’t be back after this if they would do something like this I’m not sure what else they would do to our food. We won’t be back!
Sorry for the...
Read moreBig love to Aroy Thai. The food is always delicious, service is excellent and accommodating, and the space is well-kept and modern.
We went for lunch today and ordered two appetizers because we saw something on the specials board that looked great and was something we hadn't tried before (pork wontons). This ended up being way too much food. My husband ordered the pork pad Thai with a spice level of 3 dinner portion and I had the chicken pad Thai with a spice level of 2 lunch special. Our server brought our dishes out on different-shaped plates and very quickly (I'm assuming to differentiate the lunch and dinner portions), but the amount of food looked the exact same, yet the lunch special was $4 cheaper. I'm guessing the just increased the size of mine to match my husband's, or it was a happy accident. Flavor was incredible as always. We both only ate about half of our dishes, including the appetizers. We also ordered Thai tea that was so tasty and creamy. We didn't drink all of it while eating, so we got to enjoy it as a dessert after the meal.
We came in around 12:30 on a Wednesday and all but three tables were filled and I spotted two people come in to pick up their takeout orders. It's good to see them doing so well. Not surprising at all based on the quality of their food, service,...
Read moreWe used to love Aroy. When they first opened, everything was so good. The past couple years, the place has gotten so noticeably filthy. More importantly, I ordered a red curry dish that was supposed to have salmon in it -- the 1st half had salmon, the 2nd filet of fish I cut into was white, and very noticeably not salmon. It was WHITE. It didn't flake like salmon. It wasn't pink like salmon, and it didn't taste like salmon. The workers swore up and down it was salmon, all the way down to bringing out the bag of salmon from their kitchen that they use. I told them that was great and all, but the 2 types of fish were not the same. They were drastically different. They may use the salmon from the bag that they brought out, but their chef definitely mixed one of them up because they were entirely different. I tried to go in again and order the same thing because I loved the taste of the curry, but this time, both pieces of fish were white, flat, and were NOT salmon. I believe they do this to cut cost or something. Even other patrons in the restaurant were like, "That's not salmon..." I can't keep giving my money to a shady establishment. Salmon is a very distinguishable type of fish. I wish I could go back for this dish, but after this happening twice, I'm not...
