I'm going to be brutally honest. It was a waste of six hours of my take-home wages to buy dinner from here. My wife liked hers, but she wasn't spending the money.
To get three people burgers, fries, and shakes, and to spend $80 delivered to my door, I expected significantly better.
Higher quality meat, for starters. The burger patties themselves tasted bland and overprocessed. I don't know how they were cooked, but they lacked any kind of searing - they don't appear to have been made with fresh meat, or cooked fresh on any grill, broiler, or even a skillet/griddle. The patties were smooth on the outside, like they were pucks cut from a roll, or a substance pressed into a mold and allowed to gelatinize. They seem like frozen pre-made patties that were warmed up, almost the consistency of soy burgers, in the shape of a larger McDonald's egg disk.
And if you're going to charge $8.99 for a double cheeseburger, it could at least come with some fries. Maybe a drink. It shouldn't be this expensive to get a fast food quality burger and NOT get a meal out of it, and have to add everything at a charge (including most toppings). That's ridiculous.
Because of these two things, it doesn't matter how good your shake was, it doesn't matter how good your cheese fries were. It doesn't matter how good your toppings were - not that I could justify spending another $2.50 per topping to add any of them. If the basic component of a hamburger - the patty - is disappointing and low quality, none of the rest matters.
There are much better burger places in this price bracket - even Denny's makes a better burger, and you'll spend less. I would have rather ordered from Red Robin or Water Street Brewery...
Read moreI have had one bad experience at this restaurant but it was very bad indeed. Several years ago, my family and I were eating dinner there when I bit into my cheeseburger and the bee inside bit me back. That's right there was an actual live bumblebee in my cheeseburger and it stung me. I suspect that the insect landed in the bin where the lettuce was kept and got deposited on my burger along with the lettuce. This was painful and my lip started to swell up immediately. I attempted to bring this incident to the attention of the manager and he refused to speak with me. He pretended that I was not there. He would not make eye contact he would not acknowledge me and he would not speak to me let alone apologize. He didn't ask me if I needed medical attention or inquire about my well being. He did not ask me any questions to determine how to prevent this from happening again. He wanted to pretend that this had never happened. The experience was both unpleasant and very odd. The following Monday, I contacted the Oak Creek Health Department and they sent an inspector to the restaurant. They did not find any bees in the food on the day they were there. The food at the restaurant is usually pretty good if somewhat over priced. The frozen custard flavors are really very good. some of the flavors of the day are exceptional. I now limit my visits to ice cream only for...
Read moreOnly July 2nd my family attended the car-show and decided to go in for a small chocolate and a large chocolate malt. Sat down and watched my order being made, then proceeded to watch a young man take my order that I knew was mine and put it into the cooler and then threw away my ticket with out calling it out(A32).
As Customers continued to get their malt/shake orders, but I gave him the benefit of a doubt. After not correcting himself, I stood by the counter and as I waited a lady (Supervisor?) peered into the cooler and asked him about why these shakes were in the cooler and where the ticket was. He said he didn’t know. That is where I spoke up and said two the lady is that an order for 1 small chocolate shake and 1 large chocolate malt. She said yes it is.
I informed her that I watched him put them into the cooler and throw the ticket out with out the order being called out. She abruptly apologized and gave me the order. If this young man was talked, I don’t know. 3 stars only because the the nice lady was situational aware and made sure things were flowing correctly.
I am not looking for the young guy to be punished but to be talked to about customer service. Lying about anything will never accomplish anything, even if you get punished for it. Take this is a valuable life lesson and accept your mistake, you only...
