Oh my goodness, the wait was worth it! We drove to Goodrich's for a late lunch and arrived at 1pm. We learned the wait was approaching 45 minutes. We were able to sit in the back by the closed Tiki area and wait for our table. At one point I was able to order drinks for our party of three, which helped while we waited. Once we were seated a very pleasant and helpful server introduced herself and brought us fresh drinks. We started with an appetizer of Gritters. They were absolutely amazing! Little balls of grits filled with cheese, bacon, peppers, rolled in a bread crumbs and deep fried to perfection. I commented I could eat them for lunch and be quite content. They were served with two dipping sauces that were also so delicious. For our entrees all three of us ordered the Shrimp Po Boys with two sides and hushpuppies. The fried shrimp was just perfect. They were very fresh and perfectly fried. The bun was very good and filled with a generous portion of shrimp, as well as shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes. It was served with a delicious remoulade sauce that I drizzled over the top. We all agreed these were the best Po Boys we've ever had. Each Po Boy came with two golden fried hush puppies that were light and delicious. We each had different sides. I opted for the cheese grits and black eyed peas. Both were very good and just what I was hoping for. The other two in our party ordered baked beans and French fries. My husband noted that the baked beans are exceptionally good. His eyes got big after the first bite and he was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they are. He considers himself a baked bean connoisseur and very rarely finds beans he likes. These certainly are perfect! We even considered getting some beans to go. The fries were served hot and lightly salted. They both thought they were delicious, but in all honesty their attention was focused on the Po Boys. Their beer selection is big with drafts and bottles. They also have a wide variety of frozen drinks that are very good. I had the frozen margarita and it was very good. In conclusion, our meals were absolutely delicious and fabulous, our server (tall brunette with a gorgeous smile) was very attentive, and the atmosphere of being on the Mosquito Lagoon made for a perfect outing and lunch. Goodrich's is a jewel! It's been around for over one hundred years and I hope it is open for another one...

We recently had lunch at Goodrich because of the reviews we read. I ordered beer battered cod which was less than good. Cod is typically a thick fish but these were so thin overcooking it made it difficult to eat. I would not order it again. My husband ordered saturdays special of all u can day shrimp 5 different ways. One preference at a time with a $1 premium charge if u choose to try the other ways. My husband got the blackened shrimp which were wonderful. The sides were small but very good. The problem was getting a refill on the shrimp. Our waitress was no where to be found. I finally had to ask another waitress to please find her for us. Several other waitresses then started stopping by to ask if they could bring us a refill. By that time(30 minutes) too much time had passed and he had eaten his sides and was no longer hungry. Apparently our waitress had trouble with her blood sugar. My problem with this scenario was that the waitress never told her manager or asked someone else to check on us. She should have been removed from the floor until she felt better. She was still taking orders. U could tell her sugar was low she was fuzzy like a diabetic gets. We were glad she was ok but so upset with the service and the manager for letting her continue on the floor unless no one told them. In conclusion we will probably not visit this establishment again. Although his was very good mine was mediocre. There should have been a plan in place if this happened while she was with customers. If none u need todo that today. I have never written a Google review before but I would like to share in hopes the situation won't repeat itself for someone else. I am very patient, especially when it comes to wait staff. I was a waitress myself for nearly 3 years, and I understand a rush. But I cannot for the life of me make sense of why my party of six waited nearly 3 and a half hours on Thursday to be served entrées. When we initially came in, the hostess said 30 minute wait, so we ordered a bucket of beers and went to sit out on the patio. An hour goes by before we are called for a table, and we are sat in a small table in a corner. We wait another 45 minutes for appetizers, which were alright but not worth a near hour wait for some fried pickles and chowder. Another hour ticks by. By the time our entrées came out, one of my party got hers to go and left, as she began feeling unwell due to low blood sugar. Some of the food was cold, and other irders were incorrect. From initially putting in our reservation, to receiving the bill, we were at the restaurant for 4 and a half hours and no, we didn't sit to chat long after our meals were finished. We just wanted to leave. Multiple 5 to 8 top tables were seated, served, and left, before we got our meals. Our server tried to appease with some free pie, but by the end of the evening we just wanted to leave. The food was alright. It wasn't awful, it wasn't 5 stars, but the overall disorganized and negligent service of the place left a bad taste anyway. I hope management can tell if this is a recurring problem, or maybe we just came on a bad day. Either way, we will not...

GOODRICH’S SEAFOOD & OYSTER HOUSE Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - the location on the river & the patio over the water makes this restaurant a staple to me every time I go home to visit central Florida. Something about eating a meal outdoors with the water breeze is just my jam. It’s off the beaten path & there are definitely an older crowd that seems to visit regularly & eat indoors. Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - they are well known for their fish chowder & it is worth the hype HOWEVER it is tomato based not cream so that can be misleading. They have lots of seafood options as well as chicken dishes & they offer grilled, fried, or blackened which is nice for people with dietary restrictions. Another big hit, in my opinion is the homemade hush puppies that come with most entrees. So good 🤤 Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - no major complaints. Parking lot would be easier navigable if it were paved. There are 2 handicap parking spots, sloped paved sidewalk up to the door, no step into the restaurant or onto the patio. The inside dining room is a little cramped with the amount of tables but patrons were happy to scoot to make room to get by. Bathroom was one handicap stall & one non which is totally fine for the size of the restroom. Bars & sinks correctly placed.

We tried this place because it was well rated and close to bioluminescent kayaking, and it didn’t disappoint. We tried the pickle spears, raw oysters, crab-stuffed flounder, swai tacos, and key lime pie. The pickle spears were whole pickles that were breaded, and came with mustard, and ranch. I honestly didn’t think they would be good because they were whole pickles, but they were surprisingly really good. They were nice and crispy, and weren’t too sour. The raw oysters were actually a disappointment. They weren’t very flavorful or briny. My husband got the crab-stuffed flounder blackened. The flounder is stuffed with a whole crab cake. It was good. The swai tacos were some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. I got them blackened, and they blackened them perfectly, which is hard to find. All of the meals came with hush puppies and two sides. The crab-stuffed flounder also came with a tomato based fish soup which was good. The key lime pie was really good too. We went on a Saturday night with a party of four, and there was maybe a 20 minute wait time. The food came out pretty quickly, and the service was good. Bathrooms were clean too. We would definitely go back again if in the area.

Me and my boyfriend were so excited to try this restaurant, because of all the great reviews. He is in a wheelchair. But, unfortunately we ended up disappointed. He ordered a fried green tomato BLT and I got the mixed seafood Po’ Boy. Let’s start with the service. Nobody opened doors for him. At all. It was me, all the doors, and not only for my boyfriend, but for a lot of other clients. Then the food, the bread on my Po’ Boy was a rock. And Im not exaggerating. It was old. Horrible. The seafood inside was juicy, fresh and delicious, but for $20 you only get 1 shrimp, 2 oysters and some bay scallops. The best thing in our meals were the sides and the house sauce. His sandwich made him really sick from his stomach. During our time our waitress was barely with us, I had to pick up our plates, put on a side our used napkins, and asked for her help to clean the table or give us fresh drinks. The restaurant is really pretty. But our bill was $50 I really hope they improve their service and the quality of their food. But mostly restaurants need to make sure people with disabilities enjoy a meal. Open doors for someone in a wheelchair is not that hard, and it definitely means a lot.
