McDonald's — Restaurant in Oak Ridge

My grandson and I had went through the drive thru, before going to church. They were very busy. In line for about 20 minutes of not more. People was cutting their cars off. I had ordered the 20 piece chicken nugget meal with a large sweet tea. I only wanted the sweet tea large. I get to the window after paying the girl said he is your large sweet tea. I thought maybe the person taking my order heard me wrong. Then she gives my bag. I drive off and going down the road. The nuggets were hard. My grandson kept saying more. She didn’t want them. The tea was a medium unsweetened. I was charged for the large. I tried to call the restaurant several times before I got to church. Left church went back by to speak with a manager. He seen my receipt and apologized, he said he would remake for me. Okay, I was okay with it. The girl told me to drive to steps it would be 3 minutes all the Nuggets. Okay, I sit there for 15 minutes. Once the drive through was clear I backed up to the window. I asked the girl did they forget about me. She said yes! I said WOW! The second I give the benefit of doubt and it’s done again. So the manager tried to get me 2 big boxes of nuggets. I thought about it, I said No I just want my money back. I will not ever go back to this McDonalds. I will make sure people I know don’t go either. Even the manager let me down as a customer. Never again. If I could give a 0 I would. It was very bad. First off I placed my order for a breakfast meal and another sandwich. Went to the pick up window and my order was wrong. Then when I asked where my sandwich was she said he never put it in. Then I paid for the other sandwich. I asked for my receipt and she said I thought I gave it to you. I replied no. Then she only gave me my last receipt and not the first. I again asked. Then I got down the road and realized I never got my drink. I got back there and went inside. I informed them I never received my orange juice. She said the machine was not working. I asked how come they never told me but charged me. She asked if I want a frappe. I said yes. She then said oh our frappe machine needs to be cleaned. So I asked for my refund. I asked why didn’t you know the machine was down because I saw her by the machine from the drive through. I was on my way to the ICU where my wife was waiting for me. Her mother is in there dying and I don’t need the additional stress. It’s north e first time this kind of thing has happened her. And it’s been a while since I’ve been to this store and will probably be my last. There seems to be no guidance there. Especially when the guy taking orders has a girl leaned on Him with her phone in her hand at the drive thru. Someone needs to revamp this store so these things don’t happen....

I wasn’t expecting much when I walked into McDonald’s—just a quick bite—but wow, was I pleasantly surprised. From the moment I stepped inside, everything felt clean, efficient, and welcoming. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and got my order out incredibly fast, even though it was during the lunch rush.

I ordered a classic Big Mac with fries and a Coke, and honestly, it hit the spot better than I imagined. The burger was hot, the lettuce was crisp, and the special sauce was perfectly balanced. The fries? Golden, crispy, and just the right amount of salty—I can see why they’re famous for them. And the Coke was perfectly fizzy and ice-cold, just how I like it.

What really impressed me, though, was how fresh everything tasted. I don’t know if this location just does things better, but it honestly felt like they put care into every item. Even the presentation was solid—no messy wrappers or soggy fries here.

I sat down and enjoyed my meal in a clean, well-lit dining area with great music playing in the background. It actually made me want to stay a bit longer, which I never expected at a fast food spot.
