We were so excited about trying this "new to us" restaurant, so much so I forgot to take pictures of the delicious plates! Hubby had the Brava Chimi changa, which had shrimp, chicken and steak all in one Chimi, nicely deep fried, lightly covered in a mild cheese sauce. The meats were amazingly seasoned and so tasty by themselves it was unbelievable, let along combined in this wonderful trio. His came with sides of refried beans,Spanish rice, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and Pico.I chose Maizal Chimi,it also came with lettuce Spanish rice, sour cream, guac and Pico,no beans. My plate had two smaller deep fried chimis, one chicken one beef steak, lightly covered in a delicious light cheese sauce. As I had said when I tasted my husband's plate the meats were well seasoned, extremely tasty AND tender, plus not overly salty, just a well balanced seasoning. The traditional warm chips and red salsa quickly comes at,the beginning of your meal as you wait for your food. The salsa is a plain smooth red sauce, with cilantro leaves no pieces or chunks viable or otherwise and it does have some kick after you eat your bowl full, but it is very tasty. A truly enjoyable meal,a nice surprise Valentine's meal out with the hubby. The interior was clean, colorful, typical beautiful southwestern Mexican colors. Prices are lower than other restaurants in nearby cities with comparable menus. They actually have a wide range of price choices to go with the vast array of meal choices. If you can't find what you want...your just impossible and beyond picky! lol just saying. This place is truly a very pleasant dinning experience,we will be back. Our compliments to the chef and btw our waitress was excellent as well as super...
Read morewow. i was overly surprised. the reviews of mexican food in oakdale are diverse & often bad, but this place seemed to have the least bad reviews. service was very fast. some of the staff are a bit cold, but our waitress was warm & apparently involved in cooking some the wonderful food. the chips, salsa & extra queso were typical but good. the assortment of condiments in the table basket are incredible!--included cholula & tajin, but a who lot of other things that are not usually found on the table. the beef taco salad was very, very tasty--amazing seasoned beef & lots of sour cream. the soft chicken taco alacarte was too much to eat at the time. took it home. even cold it was fantastic. my friend found the beef fajitas to be too lite on the meat & heavy on the vegetables, but he didnt even use the tortillas. not his thing. the kid with us was to finicky & just had chicken nuggets, but the french fries were not not available that day. he was fascinated by the salt & peeper shakers in the condiment basket that had the spring operated lids. he also OD'd on the tajin & the habanero sause--too funny. the credit card system was down that day. this was inconvenient, but fortunately i had plenty of cash available that day. i was prepared for high prices, but the total bill for 4 was less than $70. pleasant surprise even with a frozen maragrita (nice & potent), they are always 2 for one but did not get a second one. i hope that the french fry & credit card problem can be fixed. the menu was extensive & I want to try some other things later. i will be back. many of the seasonings seemed unique!...
Read moreNot happy with the response and service. I bought and paid for two orders of tacos @ $23.02. Came floating in water. It was not grilled chicken. It was watered shredded chicken out of the can. Just like a can at home. I call just vent. The lady answered the phone. She began to tell me in very good English. It was my fault when I ordered them. Because she repeated the order to me. She never said anything about the water in the bottom of plate of tacos soaking water. "Her words it's not water water because if not they would have been dry." She said nothing anything about it being dry and need water. Until I called with...
