After a 3 hour drive from Sacramento we worked up an appetite and some buddies took us to North Fork BBQ.. we did arrive late so they were almost out of just about everything which effected what we could order however my wife got the “outlaw potato” and I got the Carolina pig sandwich.. (those were our only two options at the time we arrived) but neither disappointed:

The outlaw potato: If comfort food and gourmet creativity had a baby, it would be this open-faced smoked potato masterpiece. From the first glance, it’s clear this isn’t your average spud — the sea salt-crusted skin adds a satisfying crunch that gives way to a pillowy, smoky interior. Melted butter and tangy sour cream mingle at the base, setting the stage for the savory dance of crisp bacon bits and fresh green onion.

The Carolina pig: this sandwich is what barbecue dreams are made of. Served on a perfectly soft, oil-top bun, the pork is tender, smoky, and slow-cooked to perfection — each bite packed with that signature tangy Carolina flavor that fans of true BBQ will instantly recognize and love.

Service: was top notch the girls were ready to go home, yet they entertained us and kept us laughing with offering items they no longer had on the menu. They did not make us feel rushed nor did they throw any shade at us that we were probably holding them up from...

Stumbled upon this amazing place on a random bike ride up into the hills. Upon arriving we were greeted by a couple of future employees who adorably informed us we didn't make it in time for the tritip, it was sold out. The hospitality didn't stop there and although it was closing time we were treated like royalty and ate like kings. It was no surprise the tritip sold out because everything we ate was unbelievably delicious. The staff were amazing and the establishment made you feel welcome and at home. We loved it so much we stopped back by a second time on our way back home. This place is Veteran ran and the people here love what they do. If I could give more stars I would, this has been the best experience of any type in a long time. A meal at north fork BBQ is all you need to restore hope in humanity and be reminded of the good, genuine people that are in short supply. Well worth the drive from fresno, I made the ride from a bit further in Hanford and I plan on doing it again. Hats off to North Fork BBQ, you deserve every bit of your success. You are...

This place was really good! My husband and I each got the 2-meat meals to go: he got pulled pork and jalapeno sausage, and I got the tri tip and sausage. The meats were delicious! Each order came with a helping of slaw, chili, rice pilaf, pickles & onions, and a roll. The meals were $22 a piece. I'd say it's a good amount of food for the price, but then I would hope so for $22! So, again, I will stress that this is a good bbq joint from what I tasted! It's family owned and the service was great. I don't want to knock this place, but... I do like another bbq place in town more than this one. I also had a 2-meat meal there and I liked their food more, especially the sides. (I can't speak to how the sauces compare, though, and that's an important detail-- I forgot to pick up any bbq sauce from North Fork!) Overall, this place is very good; not my absolute favorite, but a close contender. Everyone's different and I know many people who say this is the best place in town. There are a few bbq restaurants in Oakhurst and North Fork is definitely a...

North Fork BBQ: A Smoky Delight North Fork BBQ is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of California's Sierra Nevada foothills. Their mouthwatering barbecue, especially the tender, fall-off-the-bone pork, is a must-try. The sides, like the creamy coleslaw, savory baked beans, and fluffy rice pilaf, complement the main course perfectly. The outdoor seating, complete with picnic tables, provides a relaxed and dog-friendly atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal with friends, family, or your furry companion. Update: came back here again weary after a long hike after a few barely recognizable grunts. I had food in front of me. As always tasted amazing. After that hole in me I call a gut was filled. I was impressed even with my inability to communicate it, I got everything I needed

They have a somewhat limited menu, but surprisingly not with their salads. Three different versions that are big or huge depending if you order a regular or large salad. You see tri-tip and chicken as their protein selections which are both pretty tasty. The service was good for two people working, but unfortunately they needed three instead. Everything was much slower than it should have been. So that's why I only gave them 4 stars. That and the fact they ran out of bread to make sandwiches and they ran out of potato salad too. Overall it was a good value for the price. I hope the next time I go there, they have bread, so I can experience a BBQ sandwich.
