The donuts are some of the best donuts in the bay area. If particular note are the cake donuts. They have incredible blueberry, chocolate and crumb donut offerings. Pricing is 10 for a half dozen and 19 for a dozen, which places this as more expensive than my other favorite, Dick's donuts.

Visiting my son, I came from the East Coast, looking for doughnut culture, and found everything I could’ve dreamed of at Golden Gate Donuts in Oakland. From the simply delicious glazed donuts, to the buttermilk donuts, bear, claws, custard-filled bars, apple fritters, and donut holes to their delicious and humongous breakfast sandwiches – – Golden Gate Donuts is everything I wanted and needed.
