Yum! A lot of ice cream for the price - we all ate about half and took half home for the freezer. My son was a big fan of the mint madness sundae. Good selection of classic soft serve options - cones, flurries, shakes, sundae, etc. Nice picnic tables in the shade. We liked this much more than the Lakeside Creamery.

I have been coming here every summer for as long as I can remember. Katie’s is my all-time favorite soft serve spot to the point where I can’t enjoy soft serve from anywhere else! Always delicious ice cream served up by friendly folks. Make sure to have cash with you as they only accept cash and local checks.

My wife and daughter rave about their ice cream. This was the first time I got something and it was the coconut cream-pie, I typically decline desserts but this was so rich in flavor and hit a sweet tooth that rarely comes around. We will always return to this icecream shop when we are visiting deep creek.

My wife and I checked reviews of several local ice cream establishments and elected to drive to the one furthest away and we were NOT disappointed.

We compare soft serve ice cream shops to our gold standard, Hovermale's Test Best ice cream in Ft. Washington, MD. Hovermale's still rules but Katie's is a CLOSE second. Same down-to-earth atmosphere, same kind staff (the owner's daughter helped us), great ice cream, fast service, and generous portion sizes. I ordered a banana split and couldn't finish it all... Lol. I litterally go here everyday to the point where I usually don't even have to tell the staff working what I want! So in other words the ice cream here is a Amazing I highly recommend anyone to stop and give the flavor bursts a try. I promise you won't regret it. And they have 2 locations ones in Grantsville and one at the lake. It's worth the trip out of your way if neither of the locations are...
