We have been wanting to try Rosie's since they opened due to it being so close (we live in Bayville). I don't know why it took SO long to go!!! We took a couple with us who are HUGE Food critics and they can't wait to return as well. Each meal was fabulous in it's own distinct way, cooked perfectly and arrived at the perfect Temp. The appetizers were delicious as well. Each of us tried a bit of the others and all you could hear from our table was OMG!!! Holy Crap!!! Each time we tried something. My Husband had the Wasabi Crusted Sea Bass (hands down one of the Top 2 my we have ever had, the other contender was all the way in Aruba...LOL). I had the Maple Bourbon & Apple Pork Chop and just WOW so perfectly cooked and the Sauce simply HEAVEN!!!! Our one Friend had the Chicken Milanese that was cooked perfectly as well and the Burrata on top was delish! Our other Friend had the Short Rib Bolognese over Gnocchi (a dish off the special Menu) and it was Fabulous. the Bolognese was Fresh and Meaty. For Appetizers we had the Pork Belly (JUST WOW) and the Bang Bang Shrimp. As for the Service our Waitress was top notch and so sweet! Our Appetizers and meals did take a little while to get to us each time, but they were very busy and our lovely waitress kept checking in to let us know she was consistently checking the kitchen and when to expect everything. All the food was well worth the wait!! Plus the Bus Boys, Water Staff and even the Managers kept checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything so we didn't even notice. We even got to enjoy a lovely chat at our table with the Manager Gina who was a Doll! She sat for a few minutes and chatted and I picked her Brain about the Pork Chop Sauce. So very friendly and welcoming, they made you feel like they knew you forever. We only had one negative comment but not at all a deal breaker. We had made reservations but still had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated. I just like to always give an honest review, but literally this was the only "negative" but it wasn't at all that bad especially for everything that came after. We have to say this was one of the best Dining Experiences we have had in a while and we can't...
Read moreI write this in hope the owner takes this as constructive criticism. The whole experience, everything from the first phone call to the moment we left was terrible. The hostess on the phone told us it was BYOB, then we show up and the owner tells us we can’t have wine out, they have a full bar. We all laughed and explained to him what we were told. Then comes the service issue. Waitress takes our food order and then we had to kindly remind her she never took our drink order. She seemed flustered so giving her the benefit of the doubt that there was a lot going on that night. House red was so bad it gave me a headache and I couldn’t drink anything else after. Martinis were great. Appetizers were okay at best. Calamari wasn’t crispy, wontons were somewhat cold inside. Cesar salad had a dressing that was not cesar. The apps had potential but maybe they were just rushed. After apps it took about an hour for the dinner to come out. No one asked about refilling drinks until maybe 30 minutes went by. Once again, it seemed as if the staff was struggling to keep up with everything. Then dinner came… Half of the food was cold. Penne vodka had a hard layer on top (probably because it was sitting under a heat lamp for awhile) and then $28 chicken Milanese was absolutely tasteless. We could not wrap our heads around how this place could possibly think charging this much for this meal is acceptable. It was a small plain piece of chicken cutlet, some arugula and a ball of burrata. We were so disappointed by the whole experience it wasn’t even worth taking a shot on the desserts. This was large party, many of whom are big time locals in the community. We went back to a large party after and many people asked about it and unfortunately there was not a single positive thing to say about this place. We are a group of people who eat at a lot of places all around the world, people do not mind paying and waiting for food, but it better deliver on the taste… You guys really need to step it up it big time, especially for the prices you...
Read moreWe loved this venue when it was the Ocean Gate House back in the day and really wanted this to be great.
The food was pretty good, the service was good.
However, they had to have made changes to the room structure. It was so noisy we were yelling to hear each other.
My husband has tinnitus from the military and he had to leave the table several times because of the noise and finally excused himself and went outside to sit on a bench at the beach.
My ears were ringing and I don't have hearing issues and everyone at the table struggled. My chair backed up to a post that was pretty close as well.
They put too many tables in the room and the space is just too noisy. I certainly don't recommend it for a romantic dinner.
What a shame. Great food and terrible atmosphere.

I didn't know how to hit reply to the nasty response I got so here is my response.
First of all, I never usually have someone get snippy with me about an honest review. A two was based on a bad experience overall. If you can't hear the people less than 2 feet away why go to dinner with them, what's the point?
I never said we were having a romantic dinner I said I would not book a romantic dinner here. It is just not that kind of dining experience if you want a romantic quiet setting.
The booking was not in my name as our Aunt and her significant other booked our table for four at 7 last night.
We did say something while we were at the restaurant and were told yes we hear that a lot...
We saw each other today and all commented again on what a waste it was to not be able to enjoy our evening out!
I can't believe the caustic response BTW. That says a lot to most people. Monday Quarterback really and moldy carpeting. When it was the Ocean Gate House original, it was the epitome of elegance. How dare you talk out of turn because you didn't hear what you wanted to hear.
You have sound dampeners up that aren't doing the job. Sorry that the...
