extremely poor experience! We decided to choose your location Saturday night to celebrate my brother in laws birthday dinner & celebrate the life of my poppop who we had buried Friday. We had a reservation set for 7:45pm and we were ALL very excited about the amazing food and super cool atmosphere. Oh boy were we disappointed. For starters we were seated upstairs where it was extremely warm, very dark and very very very loud. Not to mention we had to carry a baby stroller up the stairs. There were no fans for air flow, we had to use a flashlight to see the menu and my sister seated diagonally from me could not even hear me speaking due to the noise echoing from parties downstairs. We had multiple servers and helpers that clearly were not speaking to each other. I asked one about something and then 30 minutes later I would ask where it was and they would say “oh I didn’t know you ordered that” or “have you placed that order i didn’t know!”. Appetizers were forgotten and not even placed until after others at the table had received theirs. Steaks were delivered separately and not even accompanied by the side ordered with the steaks because again they had not even been submitted by our servers. Drink requests were made several times by myself and other at the table for tea, coffee and even beers and either the drink never came and we had to remind them or we just gave up asking.
The food…. My daughters French fries arrived cold in the middle, as well as her chicken tenders that also arrived cold. Steak that was delivered to the table rare when ordered medium. Asked for it to be cooked a little more as to be “medium”. It took a long time for the steak to reappear and when it did it was well done!.
The dessert was another disappointing part of our night. After being given a dessert menu (after several times asking for one) we placed our orders. Server returned a while later saying they didn’t have the desserts we had ordered and we needed to choose something else. We changed our order and he disappeared again. It took ((forever)) to get our desserts. Just like the food that had taken forever to arrive. When our desserts finally arrived they were not what we were expecting. They seemed to be colder then they should have been & they had not decorated my brother in laws dessert for his birthday. Myself, my sister & my mom had all mentioned it was his birthday over and over. The dessert was not even taken off my sisters bill but I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be free.
Our servers even knew that they had let us down. One of them even said to my mom “I’m sorry about that, i know it didn’t go the way you wanted it to”.
SOOOO many times we were ignored and over shadowed by the “members” room occupants directly next to us. Of course they received all of their steak with their sides all together. Many times i would try to get any of the 3 of our servers to answer a question or add something to our order and they would go right on bye into the members room.
I am extremely let down and frustrated that this is the experience we had.
I feel that we were treated differently due to having kids in our party. Also maybe shoved upstairs in the corner because we had kids. Which is ((very)) sad. As a seasoned mom of 4 I was prepared to keep my kids quiet with snacks and activities and they were all so excited to dine at the “barn”.
There is so much more that went wrong but I’ll just leave it at this. As someone who loves loves loves the food at Ruth chris I am so sad that this was...
Read moreWent here for my friends birthday this Saturday, spent almost $300 for just the two of us, and my experience here was not good. By the end of the night, my friend’s birthday was ruined and since I planned the night, I felt horrible. Let me start off by saying that I made this reservation weeks in advance and specified that it was for a birthday with a request for a candle on my friend’s dessert. When we walked in, he was given a birthday card and we were seated. Our waiter came over to us and introduced himself, asked who’s birthday it was and said happy birthday to my friend. Our appetizer was amazing so we were super excited for our entrees. We ordered steaks, both medium and they came out well done. There was NO pink in sight. My friend ordered a lobster tail with his steak and that was overcooked as well. We said okay, at least it has a good taste and so continued eating since our waiter was no where in sight. Our waiter finally came over to ask me how it was cooked and I let them know both of our steaks were very overcooked. I was offered another but by that time I was halfway done with my steak and felt bad asking for another and thought what was the point at that time? The manager came over and offered us free dessert. l, of course, said okay. It’s unfortunate that was the best they could do considering their dessert is extremely cheap compared to their entrees. I was excited for dessert and knew that since they gave my friend a birthday card, they definitely saw my request when I made the reservation. So the dessert came out and when I was handed my dessert, the plate had “happy anniversary” written on it. I literally laughed out loud. I did not say anything because I was extremely upset at this point and didn’t want to make a scene at the restaurant. We brushed it off and ate our dessert. Not even 5 minutes later, the table next to us gets a birthday dessert with a candle in it. What a joke it was. I made this plan special for my friend’s birthday and it was totally ruined. I paid so much money for an amazing dinner and yet by the end of the night, I was crying. I could have gone to a cheaper restaurant that I’ve been to many times and would have known the steak would come out perfect and they would have followed my request on the reservation. I just wanted to have a nice, upscale dinner. I will never...
Read moreWe’ve been loyal patrons of Ruth’s Chris in Glenn Riddle for years, dining there multiple times during our annual visits. Sadly, this year was the final straw — and the last time we’ll ever walk through those doors.
Let’s start with the steaks, which were the heart of the disaster. I ordered the bone-in strip rare; it arrived insultingly overcooked — medium at best, bordering on medium-well. My fiancée, who specifically ordered her ribeye medium (because she’s pregnant and avoiding undercooked meat), received it medium-rare. A complete failure in the kitchen, and frankly, unacceptable.
To her credit, our server was the only redeeming part of the night — she instantly acknowledged the mistake and offered replacements. But after already waiting and with no desire to sit through another 20+ minute delay, we declined. I couldn’t even eat my steak. A $60 hunk of meat abandoned three-quarters full on the plate, because they can’t handle the basic task of cooking to temp.
The manager came over, sensed our frustration, and repeated the same empty gesture — an offer to remake the food once it was obvious the plate had already been pushed away. No real apology, no attempt at genuine customer service. We asked for the check and left — still charged full price, insult included.
Here’s the kicker: the next night, we went to Outback — yes, Outback — and for a fraction of the cost, got two perfectly cooked steaks without any pretentious fanfare. If a casual chain can outshine Ruth’s Chris in both execution and service, it’s time to admit something is seriously broken.
You’ve officially lost not only two longtime customers, but the rest of our family as well. Consider this a warning to anyone expecting quality: this location has traded its reputation for complacency and mediocrity. Ruth’s Chris, you're off the list —...
