Read moreI was so excited when this place opened since there just werent really options for Indian food in the area. I ate here more than I can count...HOWEVER, I dont know if the place was sold to new people or what happened but the last two times I came here I was so disappointed. The food still tasted good, but both times the butter chicken I ordered for take out had almost no chicken. Not even exaggerating, the dish had only FOUR small 1-1.5" cubes of chicken the first time and only THREE the second time. It was just a lot of sauce. When the dish costs almost $20 that is very disappointing. I used to get so much food I couldn't finish my meal before being full, but these last two times I waited almost 90 minutes for my order and ended up with such a small portion I was actually still hungry when I finished it.
TLDR version: Food is good but VERY small portions for too much money. Unfortunately, I likely wont be going back.
Edit: yes, this review is 100% for this restaurant. I'm sorry that the owner is offended by my review, its never easy to hear that someone was unhappy with their experience at your establishment, however, like I stated, the food itself is good. I would eat it weekly if the value was there but 4 pieces of chicken with a 90min wait for $20 plus tax and tip is just not good value, especially when you are feeding a family and are ordering 5 or 6 meals. No one would be happy to pay $120+ tax and tip to be hungry still. If the owner hired new staff right before these issues occurred then a re-evaluation of those staff may be in order rather than assuming your customers couldn't possibly know how to count/see what they received, tell time, or to correctly search for the restaurant they went to before writing a review.
Since the owner claims to be the same one as always, we will give this restaurant another try since we really have enjoyed the food here. If our experience not longer reflects my current review I will...
Read moreIt's been a year that I haven't visiting this restaurant again because I switch job location and it's a little bit farther but I decided to come back today and took a friend with me who never tried Indian food before.
Where I live now, there are plenty of Indian places, I mean there are more than 5 places that quite closer and tried 3 different places within past few months, I came back here again.
Not only the owner is the nicest and sweetest lady, she also shared the philosophy of "Turmeric" elements on the the interior and decorations.
All the color represents the whole turmeric plants, the leaves and even the flowers. I always support women owned business and the buffet was good and mild enough for the first timer like my friend who can't tolerate spicy :)
The buffet consists of 4 veggies and 4 meats dish, desserts, naan, and also hot chai tea. The chai tea was good and it wasn't overpowering like some other places I've been.
My fave is always chicken madras and butter chicken. If you would like to host a party, they also serve catering.
PS: If you look at my reviews at other Indian and himalayan food places, this is the only place I give 5 stars, because it was authentic and you can even see the cloves, the cardamom and other spices in your food, they dont play with instant and powder spices. Turmeric is playing important role in making curry and in ayurveda, it's a golden spice.
I will comeback often on the winter time. If you are in north county, please give this place a try and let's support small business and women owned business as well :)
I did not get paid for this review lol but I wanted to express my gratitude for experiencing the good food and good customer...
