We liked the sound of the name of the place. Because we like brisket in our breakfast, so we seeked them out from online as we were passing thru. Breakfast was quick and HUGE!! Debbie was our server and she was both courteous and knowledgeable. We stumbled upon a National Award Winning Pie maker and we did not know it until we walked in. The pie case was very impressive right when we walked in!! Then we saw the first place ribbons adorning the wall and the pie case…. National Pie Council first place blue ribbons!! Nice. Congratulations!! Had brisket in my stuffed hash browns. Was delish. All our breakfast’s were delish. When done eating, Debbie asked if we would like a slice of pie to top it off. We checked out the pie menu. Wish I would have taken a pic of that. We ordered a slice of pie and two whole pies!! Strawberry Rhubarb, MMMMMMM. Great filling and the flakiest crust ever!! We got a caramel apple and a lemon meringue to go. Debbie packaged it all up for travel for us. Debbie was definitely a pie pusher. Lol. Ok, she is good at upselling. And that is not a bad thing. And a good server. Pro Tip: order your regular breakfast, but save...

Had high hopes for this restaurant when new owners took over, but I've noticed they are spending less and less time on site. Quality of service continues to drop, wait times for basic dishes, particularly in the evening, where they overstaff with young people that sit idle saying there's nothing to do, goof off in public view or flirt amongst themselves, and only seem motivated to grab a plate of free food, and when duty calls walk towards patrons still chewing and wiping their mouths....disgusting! Worse yet, they leave their plate of free food to get orders without a hand wash, and also grab orders after collecting cash at the register. The way plates are handled and delivered to tables, they commonly are observed to make incidental contact with the plated food and their filthy bare hands...Health Dept Alert!! If they continue on this path, this restaurant will likely change hands again within a year, or be closed. They are also tracking towards losing their pie lady that has placed this restaurant on the map. Owners: tighten things up ASAP, your business is crashing...

Never in my life have I seen a restaurant ran this way, 3 waitresses, 2 waiters, all taking food off the buffet and eating at the counter in between taking orders, and bringing food to the table. At one point one of the waiters, took a piece of dessert off the buffet, bit into it right over the buffet and continued to eat, UGH!!! never seen any of them wash their hands in between bites. And best yet, just sat around talking, eating, while we waited 1 hour for our food. Restaurant was only 1/2 to 2/3rds full, so you would of thought we wouldn't of had to wait that long!!! So sad, because the food was fresh and pretty good when it came, but????? Never did our waiter come back to ask us if we needed a refill, how are food was, nothing until the bill came. Maybe instead of standing around, they could of been helping the kitchen??? Or take separate breaks and eat at a table away from their duties??? Just so gross to watch. Will...

An off-duty deputy from Oconto County asked if we liked BBQ, and when we said yes, he sent us here. We were not disappointed, my partner had the reuben made with brisket, and I had the philly cheese steak made with brisket. Not only was it a generous portion size at an affordable price, but the food was delicious! Special thanks to Hailey and Brett who were super. I would recommend that the owner take good care of them so the restaurant doesn't lose them, as they absolutely made our evening! I will no longer be taking the Hwy 41 bypass when passing through Oconto County. From here on out, I will be taking the exit so I can eat at the River City Diner.

I came out to Ocanto to visit my sister, whom I hadn't seen in a while and she brought me to eat here... I had a pork belly taco dinner and, though, I should have asked for hot sauce, the pork belly was super tender and gave no resistance when I ate it. TASTY. My sister had a Monte Cristo sandwich and it looked amazing. She also picked up some homemade corned beef hash so we could eat on another day and it was SO GOOD. Large, rough cuts of potatoes and corned beef, with bits of fat, so tender that they melt in your mouth. Life is good, when you can have food like that. Anyways, this place is definitely reason to visit Ocanto.
