First and foremost, I am not one to write reviews (positive or negative), but I feel that at this time I must. I started frequenting this place for carryout I believe in September 2021. Initially, I was amazed at the quality of food and service -- initially. Over the last 3 recent occaisions that I have ordered from this particular All American, I have nothing that I can positively recommend. It seems with each subsequent visit, the less positive my experience. The past 2 times that I ordered online, modifying my order in writing, so there should be no confusion; I get home with my order and it is not correct and the price I paid for the modifications is for nothing. After speaking with the "manager", I was told it was my responsibility to quality check (QC) my order before leaving the restaurant because afterwards he could do nothing about it. How about QC'ing the order before bagging it for delivery to the customer? So, I thought I would treat a co-worker and go in and sit inside the restaurant and give that a try. Ordered cocktails, after waiting approximately 15 minutes -- they were wrong; reordered and they were still wrong! No water for the table, but we received straws! Food came. We ordered 2 of the same dish and it was obvious that the portions were not even similar. The food was good, fresh and nicely presented. But how do you justify paying full price for receiving half of what you ordered? The host is ALWAYS so nice and helpful. If the rest of the staff were such, I would give this restaurant 5 stars. That being said, the food that you receive is very good, but may not include all that you ordered with little recourse from management. So for me when deciding where to eat out, for this restaurant one should consider the question: "do you feel...
Read moreUnfortunately, the experience was bad here. I am an military member who stopped in with a friend for happy hour. The bartender Christin immediately comments that my friend (who is Black) “looks like she’s been at the pool today”. Well she is Black so her tan is natural ma’am. Ugh! when we asked her for drink recommendations, she was fairly helpful (after removing the look on her face that we annoyed her asking what she recommends). She recommend a drink that was tasty but when she gave me my drink, she stuck her straw in it and tasted it herself. Her words were “oh everytime I make this, I just have to taste it”. She didn’t ask if she could do this, she just stuck her straw in my drink, took it out and put it in her mouth. It wasn’t necessarily unsanitary bc she didn’t put her mouth on the straw until it was out of the glass but I was still FLOORED that she did that right in front of me versus before even bringing it to me. Next, we ordered food and I ordered a side of fries. Less than 2 minutes later, I asked her could I add cheese to my fries. She said sure. When the manager brought our food out, the fries didn’t have cheese on them. She told the manager right in front of us, that I ordered the cheese 10 minutes later. That was completely untrue and I said that to her. After that, she had an attitude for the rest of the experience. She never once asked us if we needed a refill on drinks, any other food and never asked how our food or drinks were. We planned to order another round and get more food to go but since we were treated this way, we left promptly after paying. I am so disappointed especially because this place is supposed to be very...
Read moreThe food here was really good. I had family in town visiting and we went there twice in one week. The first time, we were seated right before 530pm and they still gave us the option of ordering from the early bird menu. I got the pork chop with wild rice and broccoli with a cesar salad. Everything was delicious. The pork chop was juicy and flavorful, not overdone, the rice was awesome, broccoli was steamed perfectly and the salad was crisp, and finished it off with a seasonal Sam Adams Summer Ale that hit the spot. I never had to be asked if I wanted more water, which I appreciate. My wife ordered a fillet; on the rare side of medium-rare and it arrived overdone. They took it back and brought her another one, and it too was a little overdone, but she took it anyways and it was fine.
The second time we went there it was busier and we had to wait a few minutes. There was a couple that thought they would be slick and snuck past everyone waiting. Someone mentioned it to the manager and he asked them to go out and wait like everyone else.
This time I ordered the medium-rare prime rib that had amazing flavor and juicy, again with wild rice and broccoli. I like wild rice and it was that good. My dad said his broccoli was really undercooked, but mine was the right amount of soft without being too soft and crisp without being too crisp. And the Sam Adams Summer Ale went down just as smooth as before. Great service and you can tell they are trying to make sure everyone has a great dining experience. Great service and a...
