I was king for a new place for me and my wife to eat at and came across 1922 on facebook. I saw some pics of their food, called and got a rundown of the menu.
We took the chance and went there, and were greeted with a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a friendly and courteous staff.
The menu was small and since I eat Scripturally Kosher food, I couldn't eat anything that had swine flesh, but I did find the ciabatta steak sandwich appealing, so I ordered it. My wife who is not a Kosher eater had the pulled pork.
We ordered their chips and salsa as an appetizer, and the salsa tasted just about the same as chipoltle's salsa, only not as spicy. The chips were light and airy, and it was very pleasing.
Our sandwiches came out to us and I dug in immediately. The steak in my sandwich was tender and juicy and the chipoltle aioli started sweet and finished with a little bit of spice. The sandwich was perfection!
My wife said that her pulled pork was the best that she has ever had, and that their bbq sauce was better than my home made sauce, which means it is excellent. She said that the pork was tender and juicy, and lacked the blobs of fat that is normally in such sandwiches.
We bought two chocolate muffins to go, and I ate mine Sunday. It was tender and moist, and full of flavor. I highly recommend 1922 to anybody who wants a change...
Read moreReally cool little place that serves coffee, alcohol, and food. My wife and I went here because we wanted to check out their coffee and food since the pictures that people posted looked great. When we entered I was pleasantly surprised how nice and well kept everything looked. It even had a cozy fireplace in the dining area! We got lattes and breakfast sandwiches and the staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. I got the breakfast club which tasted really good and my wife got the sausage, egg, and cheese on Asiago bagel and the only thing it was lacking was mayo or sauce (we got a side of Mayo to add). The lattes tasted great and paired well with the sandwiches. You can tell a lot about a place by the way to people interact with each other. We sat by a group of people who were having an amazing time together laughing and sharing stories. They seemed like they were regulars there. It’s very nice to see people so happy and comfortable, especially during these times. We will definitely be back, especially when it warms up since they have garage doors on the side that open up to the outside area. Highly...
Read moreOur breakfast sandwiches were wonderful! I also highly suggest the iced coffee and dreamsicle frappe, super tasty treat on a hot day. We came in on fathers day and they were closing at noon so the employees could enjoy the holiday, they were about to close in 15 minutes but were kind enough to whip us up some food to go. While we were waiting for our food the owner (I think) was kind enough to toss us some of their pastries for free. She gave us a couple of what I think were s'mores cookies and a cinnamon swirl or french toast muffin. I'm saving the muffin for our daughter but the cookies were so soft and rich. We live on the west side of cleveland and only come out to painsville to camp out with some friends on occasion, but 1922 will be our last stop before heading home every time...
