Barrel House 9 — Restaurant in Painesville

I'm hoping Barrel House 9 finds their footing. There could be something good here. First, they have only been open a few days and I want to give them the room for growing pains which is why I'm giving them a 3 and not a 2. For myself, I ate a black and blue burger without the bun becasue I don't use gluten. It wasn't blackened, and wasn't served with lettice or tomatoes, the burger itself was 15.95 then with a 2.5 dollar up charge for sweet potatoe fries( over salted) making it almost 20.00. The burger was over cooked. I asked for a side of BBQ. It was nasty bbq, straight up the worst bbq I've ever had. The bartendar, Tom was rude. So much so, another patron said, "If you're going to be a bartendar you have to be nice to people." Tom could care less about taking our order. The outside patio is a no smoking area I don't know if any bar has a patio you are forbidden to smoke at. This just causes smokers to go outside the front door. There was a female bartender who seemed to have bartended before and was nice. Cudos for being a plus. For now, it might just be a late night drink spot (two white claw flavors). My child got a pizza to go we were told it was Glendas however my son said there was too much pepper not the same. I got the sausage pasta for my daughter and she wasn't a fan. I hope they make the outside patio smoking ( I don't smoke but freinds have never been at a no smoking patio) I hope they change some prices. a 14.95 BLT compared to a 14.95 basic cheeseburger is weird. I hope they get a bar staff that likes working with people with the acception of nice long haired bartendder,. I hope they change their patio policy. i also hope they get their food on point. This is an honest review hoping the owners will see it and make some changes before it's too late. There were no more than 7 tables of people at 6:00, so we expected everything to be top notch. A restaurant like this is needed in our area and I hope the best for them to succeed. The staff was really nice, however they need someone like chef Ramsey to check the food before it's sent out. Mozzarella cheese sticks were just luke warm. Our buffalo dip was just above room temperature. The 4 of us each tried it and had to send it back to be reheated . Origally wanted to order the pork chop for dinner, and nachos as an appetizer, however they didn't have any because of a delivery issue. Patty melt was GREAT, fries were definitely limp, luke warm and not fresh out of the fryer. Wife had the burger and said it was really good but really disappointed in the fries. Potatoes are cheap...they need to give more on the plate and make sure they are cooked better. Friends of ours got the steak Philly and it tasted good, however 1 inch on either side of the bun had absolutely NO meat on it. (I would have returned it for the price they paid) Side salad was good they said. Obviously the beer was great with a large selection! Prices were comparable to places within 5 miles, however the other places definitely have bigger salads and more fries on the plate that are cooked better. Great set up and atmosphere was good alot big screen tvs looks like it would fun during football season but tvs were set on the same station 12 + tvs Service had a lot to desire needs attention Waitress was not attentive there were only 3 in dining room . When the food arrived alfedo with bacon waitress bought our food to us . Came back to check how things was 20 minutes later we were 60- 70% done with are meal beverage cup was empty which need refilling was not. When she did check on us she was 2 or 3 tables away from us I would let know there know there was a hair or some type glitter in our food .
