A man just walked into the store, looked at a line of about 5 people, shook his head and walked out. All I can do is feel sorry for this man, because this is the type of food you wait for. Barry's is one of those Toledo establishments that I always have to visit when I'm in town. Literally everything they have on the menu is good. Bagels? Obviously they are good. Get the everything if you are in a savory mood or try the vanilla swirl with some butter and cinnamon on it if you have a sweet tooth. They're tomato basil soup is excellent for dunking your sandwich into and the Mac and cheese is ooey and gooey just the way you like it. While you're at it you might as well take one of their gigantic warm cookies with you for dessert. On top of that you always see a familiar face behind the counter. It's like coming back to your favorite bar. Once you've been there a few times the staff will recognize you. If you don't know why I feel bad for that man who walked out, you should now.

Rude! The guy couldn't bother looking for my order and was extremely rude. Egg had mold on it. They have gotten so bad in quality. Disgusting. ETA: I didn't get green pepper, I got egg, sausage, tomato and red onion. There was a huge piece of greenish blue something in the egg. It's not pepper. If these eggs are prepared fresh then I agree it's not mold it may be something else which shouldn't be there anyways. If these are frozen and warmed then it can very much be mold. Less excuses, you feed peoples children be more responsible.

🥯 ☕️❗️ One word…. DELICIOUS 😋. If you haven’t tried Barry’s Bagels and you live in the area get up and go today. Barry’s Bagels is my favorite bagel spot in the Toledo area. I generally get the corn beef bagel with Swiss cheese toasted and it never disappoints. The best thing about this location is that you can watch the bagels being made, and there’s also a space for you to sit and enjoy with large groups.

The food was good and well made. My problem is how the staff was being utilized. There was 7 employees all focused on making food and giving orders out, but none at the register or to take orders I waited for 20mins to just get my order taken and they weren't busy, but a line was created because no one was taking orders. I also waited another 15min at the register when the gentleman behind me orders more food and paid before me. I was there on a Tuesday around 10-11am. The staff wasn't being utilized well at all I don't think staffing was the issue because it looked like they were fully staffed. I think the issue was delegating job tasks as I wasn't the only one that had to wait a long time. Worst of it was that it looked like the managers/owners were there doing the books/ having a meeting when I was there and didn't notice this flaw. This was my first time, but I came with someone who said they were a regular and said it was common for this to happen. I would come back for the food, but not for the service.

Update after reading further reviews about food times and order times and reading the response from the owner. I don't think I will be back. I have worked in several resturants, cafes and bars. Management meeting are best done before opening, near closing, or at a time when coverage is possible, or at a slow time of day based on revenue charts. I understand when a company has worked a way for over 50yrs things are classified as normal, but like I said in my original review this was my first time at this establishment and I saw the flaw and it will continue to be a problem in the future for customers, but like I said the food is good. I hope the owner is open to change to help the business run more...

I continue to order from here but I'm very disappointed in the service. I always order on the app in the hopes of saving time but as usual, again today, I waited until everybody who was in line had their orders filled before I could get my online order that was sitting on the counter getting cold. And yes, even sitting on your warmer it was cold! Yes, I was in the online order pick up area. When I mentioned it to the service personnel no apology, no nothing. So be prepared to wait for a long time for your online order. Using the app will not save you time. Your response to my review saying I didn't hear that I was asked if I could be helped, if true, is on you! I was three feet away. Why didn't the employee or anyone else standing around let me know my attention was being requested. That's what's normal. Twice employees walked away from me. This is my second visit with this occurring. I can understand once but twice is one time to many! Or are you going to say I didn't hear someone ask me if I was helped on the first visit too. Actually, that visit I waved an employee down to give me my order after several minutes because it was on the "counter " with my name on it and I saw it. What did you all think I was standing there for five minutes for...to watch everyone else be served? Shame on you for blaming and trying to shame me as the customer for your inadequate...

I expected better. I ordered take out...a sandwich and a half dozen bagels. The store was clean but stark. Not an inviting atmosphere to eat in by any means. I walked to the designated pick up area. 2 employees were standing there. They were talking to each other. They saw me but ignored me. After a few minutes conversing with each other one went back into the kitchen and the other went over to a food prep area and started talking to someone else. I stood there another few minutes, figured no one was going to help we, so I reached over the counter trying to figure out which one of the half dozen take out bags was mine. I found mine on the third try, grabbed it, and left. I was in the store five minutes without being acknowledged. When I got home I eagerly opened the container. The sandwich had huge mounds of sandwich meat, and had a beautifully ripe tomato slice on it. I took a bite and was disappointed. The onion bagel had little flavor to it. It tasted like plain old white bread. I would have been better off buying some cold cuts at the store and putting them on wonder bread than paying over $11 for what I got. I was underwhelmed with the half dozen other bagels I purchased too. If you want a good bagel sandwich for take out you might want to look at...
