Mia’s dessert bar was adequate but the prices are ridiculous. $7.25 for a croissant, and coming from someone who lived in NYC these are legit prices we would be charged in Manhattan. Also, the worker was not helpful at all — my cream croissant was hard, cold and stale and I was given no instruction to let it come up to room temp before eating. They need to change the power of the fridge because this was practically frozen in the center.
Also, I asked questions about the products such as ingredients and flavors, because duh I’m paying $7.25, and he didn’t seem eager to help or explain. Also, the croissant just tasted stale. It suspiciously seemed like they were a day old, and I wouldn’t be surprised cause the store didn’t have a baking kitchen attached — it’s just a small store front which means they were transported from someone’s house probably.
The pastries were good and flavorful, but in terms of freshness and price I wouldn’t...
Read moreI be love their croissants. But I got zaatar from the food warmer case and it was so dry, very far from the level of the other ones. I’d advise not to get pastries from that food warmer display unless you’re there right when they opened.
2/5 Za’atar - it’s been kept warm for too long, dry and hard. Not worth the price.
4/5 Chocolate cream - one end had no cream and tons of cream everywhere else. Lovely, but not my favorite. Remember to put it in the fridge if you’re not eating it right away. Mine spoiled last time.
5/5 Pistachio Babka - my favorite so far. Though I’ve wonder why they make it so vibrantly green, the flavor is wonderful. I think I’d like all of their babka.
4.5/5 Hazelnut chocolate - it’s super long unlike the regular croissant shape, which gives you pretty even filling and pastry ratio each bite. Hazelnut praline really comes through, not much chocolate to overpower the...
Read moreI had the pleasure of trying the croissants from this charming new spot today, and they did not disappoint! These are hands down the best croissants in the greater Toledo area, and you can tell they’re made by someone who truly cares about their craft. They have a perfect, flaky texture, with that rich buttery taste you hope for in a well-made croissant.
The price is more than fair for the quality you’re getting. While you could get more quantity at other stores for a lower price, I’d much rather enjoy one of these incredible croissants than more of something that doesn’t come close. For anyone who appreciates a well-crafted pastry, this place is...
