Family Owned, Fast Food, Pizza, Ice Cream and Putt Putt Golf. Open from February to November, this family owned business offers a covered, outdoor, dining area big enough for 4 large picnic tables. There are giant trees in the surrounding yard providing shade for an additional 12 picnic tables. Much of their staff are high school and college students, but all do a great job of keeping the food flowing. They offer footlong hotdogs, a good variety of sandwiches and sides that include French fries, fried mushrooms, and a side salad. Wednesday there is usually a discount on pizza, so wait times may be longer then. There is a good variety of ice cream goodies including milk shakes, cones (with swirled flavor choices), banana boats, and sundaes. You can also purchase quarts or pints of ice cream. The Fun Putt Putt course offers a challenging game with a variety of slopes, curves, and a water obstacle. The course is lighted and is open for new starts until an hour before closing.

The burgers had fresh crisp toppings but there was gristle in the burger patties. The fries and slaw were terrible. The fries have a strong frozen potato taste and the slaw had such a strong vinegar flavor I was worried it was spoiled. However, the fish tail sandwich was big and tasty. The friendly and helpful service, mini golf, and ice cream is where they shine. The apple dumpling sundae was beautiful and delicious. The mini golf course was the nicest one I have seen in years. The bathrooms were well stocked and clean. We would enjoy coming again for ice cream and golf but skip the regular food.

Most of the time when we think of Dairy Bars who have images of soft-serve ice cream, coneys, and burgers, but if you stop into Buckeye Dairy Bar the wise (and thrifty) foodie should try one of their pulled pork BBQ sandwiches with slaw. At $1.69 the BBQ is far less expensive than the burgers, which in my opinion taste like liquid smoke applied to cardboard. Also if you have a hankering for a milk shake this dairy bar makes them "made to order" so you can mix and match flavors...try marshmallow/hot fudge or pineapple/raspberry.

My wife and I had arrived here for something fun to do during a road trip. We love mini golf, so figured it'd be nice to try. We get there and there is no line, but about 10 people waiting on orders. We walk to the mini golf shack and wait about 10 minutes ringing the doorbell twice. After waiting, we went to the dairy counter to ask directions on how to get into the golf section. We waited 20 minutes while younger workers in the back were doing nothing and the two up front fulfilling orders. Every time we tried to speak, we got the window slammed in our face. I watched one worker trying to fit a lid on a Styrofoam cup for 4 minutes just to give up. One lady had to stick her head in the window to get their attention after saying something five times. All in all, the younger workers (while not too much of an excuse of being younger if they were trained correctly) were not efficient in the slightest and 10 dollars for 2 people to play 8 holes of golf was not worth it at all. We will not be coming back. I understand having a rush, but there weren't that many people there. Plus, the golf shack was completely ignored for long periods of time. The manager or whoever it was, seemed to emerge from the back out of nowhere after possibly hearing the doorbells 20...

This place needs to get it together! Not only was the old owner awful to their employees asking why you need a personal day and such. They can rarely get food orders correct whether it’s the wrong food or just missing items completely. They will ironically give you cold food and hot ice cream. We waited for nearly one hour waiting for two ice creams and a coke. When we asked the women who took our order if they had forgotten us she replied “nope, just haven’t gotten to it yet.” Which they are usually pretty busy, but at the time they were not busy. We continuously watched as people who ordered ONLY ice cream order and received order less than five minutes after get their order. Now if we ordered food as well I would understand that it would take longer but there was no food and people with food could order and get it faster then we got our two MELTED ice creams and a coke. I would not...
