Ermanno's Pizza — Restaurant in Ohio

I used to drive from Massillon to this Ermanno's because it was so good. We had some decent local places there too but we really liked Ermanno's! I now live a city block away but the food has declined to a point where I've stopped going there. Simply no meat on the subs, no sauce, no cheese or toppings on the pizza. Remember Domino's cardboard pizza in the 90's ? That's what this placs is like now. If you need to charge more to keep the quality up to stay in business please do...

Staff is also now composed of rude teenagers which would also explain the poor quality. Previously there was always at least one adult on site to keep them on task. It's a real shame...

Edit** to two stars... after some time we gave this place another go.

House dressing is still amazing, just nothing on the Itailan sandwich really all. Basically a large is one piece of lettuce and a slice of each ham,cheese,tomato cut in half a put on a hoagie bun. Sometimes you might get a pepperoni or two. Again raise the price and make it like it was!!!

Antipasto salad, for the cost I was impressed... not much in the way of meat but otherwise excellent quality and a generous portion. I used part of it to dress the lacking subs we ordered.

Sheet pizza, this was pretty good... no where near as good as it used to be but we actually got some cheese this time. I paid for extra as always and actually couldn't see through it! Crust was good but more bland than before, the same with the sauce. Not bad, just not much for flavor. Somewhere between Gioninos and the hit or miss of Ricardos in quality.

Again this used to be worth driving from Akron/Massillon/Ravenna to Louisville and back to have... Please return to your past quality.

*Edit to 3stars... Effort seems to be improving so we are starting to call Ermanno's more often. Still not as good as it had been and still light on the subs but it...

I've been ordering from here for the past 15years. Was some of the best pizza around. I highly recommended them to everyone. However, for the past two -three years it has been hit or miss, and more misses than hits. Some pizzas I have ate one piece and threw the rest in the trash, like I did today, due to an excessive amount of salt in the sauce. For awhile I switched to a garlic sauce when I ordered. After that I started just buying their dough and making my own pizzas and such. Two or three weeks ago I ordered a pizza with light red sauce ,extra cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. Hands down it was a great pizza and in-line with expectations. So much, I thought I had wrote a great review for them,but cannot seem to find it here today. Today I ordered light sauce, extra cheese, pepperoni and Bana peppers on half. It was over cooked, had a regular amount of extremely salty sauce, no extra cheese. I am highly disappointed and will have to take another extended break from ordering from here. I don't know what has happened there or why it is so inconsistent, but I am tired of throwing my money away. If I wanted to gamble my money away I would go to the casino. Get your game together...

Originally rated a 1 - but updated it to a 3. The owner did contact my family directly and did make the situation right by apologizing and making the person call back and give our family a credit. This was REALLY nice of her.

Original Review: Not impressed with Ermanno’s. First time ordering/eating their food and experienced terrible service along with not great / tasteful food. Our family was gathered and put in a pretty large order - $95 dollars worth along with tipping the drive $15. They ended up forgetting an item on the order so we immediately called when we realized it was nowhere to be found. We let them know it was missing and they acted as if we needed to check everything again. Why would we pretend we were missing a less than $5 item is beyond me. The employee said they’d run the missing item out. Moments later what sounded like a manager, called my sister back, saying he double checked that order and he couldn’t have missed them and we had to have them - so basically believed we were lying! Not a “we’re so sorry that happened” or anything but assumed...
