My husband and I went there today for breakfast shortly before 11. We were seated quickly, but the hostess threw our menus on the table and left. We waited for the server and asked for a booth and breakfast menu as we weren't given one.
The hostess then seated another table after us and took their drink order, and we had to wait for the server to clean a table (there were other clean ones in the same section).
Before and while we were ordering our food, my husband asked if he could have sugar free syrup. The server brought us regular syrup, after being asked twice for sugar free. My husband is a diabetic (luckily she finally brought it).
From the time we sat down to when we got our food took over 40 minutes. The server kept saying how busy she was, yet only had 4 tables including us.
I ordered french toast, which tasted like the food that was cooked before. Had a hint of green peppers and onions, which doesn't go well with french toast.
While eating our food, the hostess and server seemed to be much more attentive to other and new guests. Told them about the specials, grabbed their drinks and in general gave them better service.
The restaurant was also pretty dirty. dusty fans and tables weren't cleaned. I also wouldn't recommend sitting at the table that we did if you have a child(ren). The electrical outlet was exposed and not covered, which a child could easily stick something in it and get shocked.
Lastly and most disappointing thing... when my husband finally got the sugar free syrup, it was EXPIRED. Being a restaurant, everything must be in date, no...
Read moreDuring my visit today at Kay's place, I experienced a terribly rude staff and even more terrible tasting food. Upon entering the restaurant with my mother, we stood next in line to be seated. We waited just under 5 minutes without even being greeted by the hostess who made eye contact with us more than once. When a table became available, we received "right over there" and a finger pointed in the direction where a table was available. Absolutely unbelievable. The second part of this "kitchen nightmare" was the food. Not only was the food served in an undesirable fashion on the plate but the same, jarred beef gravy that was used on my open-faced roast beef sandwich, was the same congealed dressing dumped on my mother's open-faced turkey sandwich. The meat was tough and dry and the mashed potatoes were like a thick, stocky, tasteless paste. Our waitress, although friendly, never bothered to check on us after dropping off the indigestible swill. Consequent to asking for the check, we made it known that we were not happy with the food and the waitress gave us a blank stare and proceeded to turn around and walk away. This is a review by someone who worked her way through college as a waitress, hostess and bartender in the service industry. I have traveled all over the United States eating at restaurant after restaurant and this place by far had the most unfavorable service I have ever experienced. Please, be a little more kind and friendly to your patrons and work on serving fresh meals rather than the slop & fold that was...
Read moreThe food here was delicious! Our waitress was fabulously fantastic! Our dining experience was horrific! The owner sat in the dining room barking orders at her staff so loudly and so disrespectful that I’m sure the entire restaurant heard it! I understand that running a business you have to have rules and run a tight ship, but this lady is out of control! She would yell at the staff and then when they would go do what she wanted them to do, she would trash talk them behind their backs! This is very inappropriate and highly unprofessional for a businesswoman. If you have problems with your staff you should take them back behind closed doors barking orders at your staff in front of your customers ruins their experience and the atmosphere of the restaurant. She was so rude to our waitress about our waitress wanting to buy a pie for her father. We decided we were going to buy the pie for the father and the owner got snippy with us!! She made a comment to make sure we knew it was an expensive pie like we couldn’t afford it! I didn’t care what this pie cost I wasted to buy it for our waitress for she had been yelled at and disrespected by her boss in a busy dining room! I am your customer but I promise it will be the last time I will ever spend a dime in this place! Also after reading the reviews this is not the first person to complain about how she...
