Not a fancy place, these stars are for the food. I’m spoiled by really good Mexican food so typically I’m disappointed around OKC. Not the case here. I came in around 2PM on a Saturday (Today) and the place is busy with only a few empty tables. I ordered the Taco Special (3 tacos with rice and beans), and tried the barbacoa, Al pastor and pollo (pulled beef, pork with adobo and pineapple flavors, and chicken).
Now if you know anything about authentic tacos, you’ll know they’re different everywhere you go. I’ve tried so many! I haven’t been everywhere in the metro of course, but I’ve been to the popular places I’ve heard about. I ALWAYS try the Al Pastor tacos because they’re my favorite when they’re made well. At some places, it’s terrible, but this was the best I’ve had in the area. It was delicious! My husband who is Mexican and lived here in the metro longer than I have, tried it too and agreed that it’s the best he’s had in the area.
The barbacoa was delicious too! It was super tender, juicy but not greasy, and lean. Some places shred it and it’s like greasy mush, but here the texture is what roast beef should be. It’s like eating my grandma’s roast beef on Sunday but with Mexican flavors on a corn tortilla.
The chicken is nothing to write home about. But about the tortillas. I’m not the worlds biggest fan of corn tortillas but they just go with authentic tacos so I get them every time. A good corn tortilla makes a difference. These were great! They looked to be white corn. I’m not sure if they’re store bought or made there or what, but they were good. The rice and beans were good as well.
As for the service, it was pretty fast. I’ve waited a lot longer for food at McDonalds. Granted, it’s not a weekday lunch rush, but still quick. I have seen the line pretty long on a weekday and that scared me off the first time I dropped in because I was in a hurry, but if you have a little time, it’s worth the wait.
I’ve lived nearby for about two years so I’m surprised we haven’t been sooner. Probably has to do with the hours or just a coincidence, but we’re excited to go back in the future.

Read moreFood was absolutely delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Plenty of seating for a busy lunch rush. We ordered the tacos, which were priced great at $2.95 a taco. There are multiple meat options, we got chicken (pollo), steak (carne asada), and pork (carnitas). The tacos came on (2) homemade corn tortillas, generous helping of delicious meat, diced white onion, cilantro, and a splash red salsa. They ask if you want everything on it when you are up under the order here queue, so you can customize it as well. Sat down after ordering and they brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were freshly fried and thin and crispy, not too salty but salt and pepper at the table. Salsa was a mild spice level, thin in consistency for sure had thinly diced chunk too it too, had a heavy flavorful tomato base, it also had onion and cilantro and almost marinara like flavor very unique salsa but I found it delicious and clearly distinctive to the restaurant.
My only qualm was there wasn't music playing, which is entirely a personal preference. I felt very present though listening to the sounds of cooking from the kitchen and background conversation from the other patrons but full of people having a good time with friends and family.
They also had TVs with different channels, no sound, if you need...
Read moreEdit* It’s been a while since I started going back here, I even forgot that I wrote a review. I’ve tried their food and have taken my brother there, it’s definitely good Mexican food and I’m sure when I first tried it long ago that it was probably a bad batch. I’d recommend the burrito plate. Only thing I’d like is a bit more of a spicy touch.
Went here because I went to the outlets and saw the restaurant had good reviews. I always say, if you want to test out a Mexican place, ask for a burrito or a taco, they can’t mess it up (if they do, don’t go back). So I ordered a burrito plate and I also asked for a Shrimp cocktail (had so long without trying one, that I went ahead and risked it). First went through the cocktail and it was decent and the pricing is good, so no complains. But oh my, the burrito is sooooo dry, the beans and rice are also dry and flavorless. I thought adding some lemon and salt would do the trick, just masked it but still didn’t finish the burrito. Really don’t know if I just got a poorly prepared one or what happened. Never have I left a negative review for a Mexican place and this surely...
