My family and I live in Fort Gibson, OK. We occasionally visit the Oklahoma City area. Today we had to visit Harrah, and on the way back decided to stop at Robertson's in Seminole, OK for supper. My wife had wanted, for years, to eat there, but this was our first opportunity to do so. We arrived right around 5:00 P.M. There were two young men working there. They told us shortly after we arrived that they closed at 5:30. I replied, "OK, we'll eat fast." There are 9 people in our family, so it took them a while to get our food prepared (it was right around 5:30 when it was ready). At 5:45 we were just finishing up (I thought we did pretty good to get finished in 15 minutes), when one of the employees came over to us and said, "I told you we close at 5:30; it's 5:45 now." (I will add both of the employees were polite; they never talked in a snotty tone of voice, or anything.) I told him we were just finishing up and were about to leave. So, to sum up, the food was great, as was the atmosphere. The only reason I deducted one star is because of being rushed. Most restaurants, even if you arrive shortly before closing, will allow you to finish your meal in peace. I realize this is a smaller business than most restaurants; I realize the employees may not be paid for any time they work past 5:30, and that they may have had places they needed to be, and things they needed to do. So, my suggestion to the owner is this: either instruct your employees to allow late-arriving customers to finish their meals in peace (people who have been on the road for hours, and who have just spent $100 at your establishment do not want to be rushed; they want an atmosphere of peace and leisure in which they can eat their meals), OR post a notice which informs customers that no seating will be allowed in the restaurant area after, say, 4:45. If your employees MUST leave at 5:30 sharp, don't make the customers uncomfortable because of it. Thank you for your time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've passed this place several times on road trips but didn't stop until a couple of weeks ago. What a hidden gem!
They don't have gluten-free bread, but they'll give you your ham, cheese, whatever you order in a baggie & you can add it to your own bread (I sometimes travel with my own GF bread). I ordered a ham with pepperjack cheese sandwich (no bread).
The ham is delicious, and they're generous with it! The jalapeƱo mustard is really delicious. The ham or sausage biscuits come warm & wrapped in a paper towel. My teenage daughter loved it & said it was like getting a biscuit your mom made for you.
The gentleman behind the counter was so kind & polite! This location has a better selection of both sandwiches & condiments (jalapeƱo mustard!), as well as jarred products (pickles, jams, molasses, etc.), but I didn't see the pickles available with which to dress a sandwich...may have just overlooked them. The location on I-35 was a little bigger & had condiments on the tables & a sandwich dressing station--but it didn't have as many options available.
I also appreciated that this restaurant is right off the interstate, so it's convenient for a quick bite to eat. This is not super close to home for us, but we will certainly stop again when we're passing through on our next road trip in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe moved to the area last month and traveling on I-40 seeing the signs for Robertson's we had to stop in to see what it was all about. We stopped by around 3:00pm. We walked up to the counter and was looking things over. We told the person behind the counter that this was our first time in thinking that maybe he would explain some of what they had, nope. He did offer us some of the summer sausage which was very good. My wife ordered the ham sandwich and I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich, as the worker headed back to make them we grabbed a couple of small bags of chips and started walking around looking at the place. After about 5 minutes the sandwiches were ready. The sandwiches were made and placed in a clear sandwich bag like you make for a school lunch, we were offered a tray. We ate them there. We got 2 sandwiches, 2 small bags of chips and one pop to share. Paid just over $15.00 including tax and the sandwiches had just the meat, slice of cheese on 2 slices of bread. We were expecting maybe some lettuce, tomato and maybe onion or pickles to go with the sandwiches but no. The meat was tasty but the sandwich was a bit over priced. I don't know if they have hot sandwiches it was never mention and wasn't listed on the menu. We left hungry and will probably...
