Hunan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Okmulgee

We stopped in while traveling through on a Sunday around 1pm. My phone was charging so I didn't get any pics. This is a super small location. There was 3 families inside with multiple small children 7 & under, that continually were reaching into the buffet containers on the dessert island with their hands. There was several empty trays or trays with just sauce in them. They would bring up a small plate of what looked like fried chicken bites and she'd dump a few in one sauce and stir around then dump the rest in another sauce and stir it around. There was 3 of the same dishes that looked identical but had different names. It was only $6.49 a person, but we barely ate anything. We were there for over an hour and 2 trays were never filled. There was 1 main food island with I believe 10 trays of food choices and 1 dessert island. All the cookies appeared to be off brand and so old they crumbled at the touch. I recently dined at Hunan's Chinese, and my experience left much to be desired. Firstly, the restaurant's cleanliness was a major concern; it was exceptionally dirty, well beyond what one might expect even in a casual setting.

The service was also a letdown, primarily due to the extremely rude woman at the front who handled money and answered questions. In my years of dining out, I've never encountered someone so discourteous in the food industry.

The buffet section was disappointing as well, with food left out for extended periods, resulting in lukewarm and unappetizing options.

However, if you can endure the initial struggle of dealing with the order taker and opt for menu items, you might find hot, fresh, and delicious dishes. It's a shame that the restaurant's potential is marred by its cleanliness and...

First time coming here, last time coming here. Wish I could take it back. I hoped it would have been better than the other buffet in town but I was sorely mistaken. I am not a picky eater by any means but this was by far the worst Chinese buffet I have ever eaten at. The service was horrible. I had approached the woman at the counter about a “carrot” in the “fried” rice that appeared moldy (it was mostly black in color) and all the woman would say was that it was a frozen carrot while being very rude. She offered no refund for the child’s plate since a child had been the one to find the moldy carrot. The entrance smelled like a dead mouse. The food quality was the worst I have ever seen.
