Not what I was expecting. Being new to the neighborhood, we have passed by for almost a year. The stars aligned and we found ourselves here the other night. It's modern counter serve, not table service. The price is high for counter serve and the menu is basically simple salads, chicken wings, and pizzas. The atmosphere is great; an amazing patio, and up-and-coming location! Bussing my own tables is that new idea that somehow I'm supposed to participate in the after dinner chores, but pay three times the cost of dinner at home. I'm not sure why this is catching on so many places. The lighting was really dim for a wing and pizza joint that wasn't trying to avoid glare on the big screen for the Sunday night football game. Maybe they're saving money on table service, bussing, and electricity? The food was average. The cheese pizza gave us all heartburn (which means it's both exceptionally high in sodium and acidity) and the wings were only mildly better than my 20-something memory of frozen wings from Costco. They were both tasty, for what they were. We had a pretty good draught root beer and considered that the highlight. I think if we would have reviewed the menu online we probably would not have gone at all. We aren't wings and pizza people; we have carrots and hummus in our refrigerator. However, we do try to support local restaurants once or twice a month.
My family's experience was a 5/10. We will not be going back as there are countless other places we enjoy more for the price point per person. We also don't have to go pick up our own food and bus our tables at those places which is an additional perk for the money spent. I mean the luxury of eating out as parents is so you don't have to cook, nor do the dishes. That's why it costs 3 times as much to eat out vs at home, or at least I thought that until recently. Am I the oddball that thinks it's not ok to pay this much for food to not have it brought to my table and have my plates...
Read moreThis isn’t the first time we’ve been here. And sadly it probably won’t be the last. So this is not written lightly. Many times we’ve eaten in, service has been mediocre at best. Servers attitudes depends on who you get. There’s a couple who are really great. And then some who don’t belong in the service industry. But at some point something has to be said and with that, here it is. Been sitting here waiting for 45 minutes. Not a super busy night at all, we’ve eaten here enough to know. Folks that have come in after me ordering to eat in have all received their food. Parties white multiple people. We live around the corner and have eaten here very often. The service is absolutely awful. Food is good enough for a group of people hanging watching football. Generally sub par. Over priced. But “convenient” when you live super close until you watch everyone be served around you while you wait. We have been here at least 15+ times and the service is always sub par. Our immediate family also lives within walking distance and also agrees that the attitude is never welcoming and the cost of food absolutely does not match the service you receive. The atmosphere has the potential to be a great place and I assume that’s what the owner had in mind. But they should maybe be more involved to ensure the people they’re in-trusting to live out their vision actually meet their expectation. Would I recommend the place? As a backup plan yes. But not as a go to spot. Vic’s. Old school. Dirty Dave’s all Trump the location by far in quality of food and general...
Read moreFirst time coming here and had a terrible experience! Came here with my family that was visiting from out of town. I got a cocktail and the cashier said to pick it up at the bar. After a few minutes, I went up to the bar and politely asked the bartender, "Excuse me, what drink is this?" She said, "the Lacey Fog," which is what I got. Being my first time here, I wasn't sure if I should just take whatever drink or what the drink even looked like, which I tried to explain to her (her name was Britt) — I didn't want to take someone else's drink. In a very rude tone she asked, "WHAT DID YOU GET?!" and said "THAT'S THE LACEY FOG!" Pretty much snapping at me. I didn't appreciate her demeanor/attitude which was very degrading so I told her to not speak to me that way. I might’ve not been nice when I told her that — she said she didn’t appreciate me snapping at her? Okay, well maybe you should treat people with respect so it’s reciprocated especially in this industry — you don’t snap at customers.
I later went to grab another cocktail and the lady at the cashier(I believe her name was Taylor), said she couldn't serve me anymore because she didn't appreciate the way I spoke to her manager.
I worked in the restaurant industry and I never heard of a manager speak to guest like that. I'm not sure how this bartender/manager still has her job because she has an attitude issue and no customer service skills. Their bar system SUCKS too!
Our salad and appetizer also came out after our pizza, which sucked. Food was good but customer service wasn’t — good enough reason to not want...
