Read the owner's response below. This is how they treat customers. Emberassing and unprofessional.
Not liberal or LGBT friendly. The service is pretty good, however the food is average at best and they very often get orders wrong. I used to go here once a week and ask for the side salad to be brought out before the food and despite them saying that they would do that almost never have they. And they have gotten my orders completely wrong before. The atmosphere is loud and crowded, constantly.
And recently they've begun displaying problematic political symbols in the restaurant. I contacted them via Facebook to simply inquire about the symbols being displayed in the restaurant. Through our conversation they told me that neither The Thin Blue Line flag or the pro gun sign are conservative leaning and that The Thin Blue Line flag was basically not co-opted by hate groups and they are only supporting police officers with its display. But when I told them that by displaying it they are communicating that they may not care about or even want liberal or LGBT customers, the only response I got was a thumbs up. They also informed me that they're going to be adding more symbols in the future.
If you are LGBT or liberal do not spend money here. I have personally added them to the same list as Chick-fil-A and hobby lobby. I am LGBT and I support anyone's and everyone's right to be who they are as long as they do not infringe on anyone else's right to be who they are. This company has begun displaying symbols that are in opposition to that. They have begun displaying symbols that are used by groups that are opposed to my existence. And neither me nor my family will be returning.
Everything that Keystone Cafe has said and reply to this review is incorrect. I have no problem with law enforcement, never have and never will. They are attempting to deflect from the issue. The issue is I told them in a Facebook message that by displaying the signs their communicating to Liberal and LGBT customers that they either don't care about them or don't want them as customers and they replied with a thumbs up, which means they agree with that statement. And you certainly do not need a pro gun sign to show support for police officers. This has nothing to do with law enforcement. And has everything to do with this business recently becoming openly aligned with right-wing politics. If you have a criticism about this restaurant they will lie about you online. How much do they really care about their customers if they're willing to treat...
Read moreTypical reviews are shared by customers who eat at the Kafe. As the General Manager of the Keystone Kafe I would like to break with tradition and âreviewâ the Kafeâs customers. In dog years Iâve been in the hospitality industry for about 400 years. There isnât enough Botox to disguise that truth. I can tell you with certainty that the customers that support the Kafe are amazing. A majority of our restaurant patrons live in the Keystone neighborhood but the demographics have grown to include hundreds of loyal patrons who come from Omaha, Bennington, Irvington, LaVista, Florence, Ralston, Sorensen, Bellevue and beyond. These wonderful customers are dining at the Kafe because of glowing reviews that our Keystone patrons have verbally spread and shared on social media. I want to thank very single customer who dines at the Kafe. I appreciate your support and positive energy that you bring to the restaurant. You have created a community of friendship that is shared while enjoying great food and endless coffee. My staff and myself welcome ALL individuals to the Kafe and thank everyone for the diversity, kindness, laughter and love that you bring to the Kafe. I appreciate your respect and generosity to my staff that I refer to as My A-Team. (I hit the staffing lottery!). My staff and myself understand that we have hit the âcustomer lottery.â Each and every customer gets a five star rating. Thank you for joining and supporting the Keystone family. I look forward to seeing you soon. ...
Read moreThis is absolutely the worst service i have ever seen in the Omaha area. Hands down the rudest waitress Iâve ever encountered. These things didnât even happen to me but are what I saw when the waitress in question was serving two other tables. She wouldnât let a customer move creamer off his table when it was in his way. Quite literally told him to leave the creamer âright where it isâ when he asked if he could move it to a different table, out of the way. She wouldnât take a customers food order until she had taken drink orders. âYou need to waitâ were her exact words. After she took drink orders, when she decided she was ready to take their food orders, she moved to other side of the tables to purposely take that gentlemanâs order last. I quite clearly heard him say âand can I have white toast with that?â, which indicates he ordered something and wanted white toast with it right? Why in the name of all that is good in this world would this woman only bring this man toast?? I understand that times are difficult and everyoneâs just trying their best but this woman had no excuse for that type of behavior. These customers were not rude, the restaurant was not understaffed, they werenât even that busy at the time. It was our first and last time there and we didnât even get the chance to order because her treatment of them was so appalling that I had lost my appetite so we just decided to leave. It does not matter how good the food might be when the service is that...
