Looks like my experience was different than most, thankfully.. I ordered two dinners to go, took about 15 minutes longer to prepare than was quoted. I found that surprising as it was basically mid-afternoon quiet time.
VERY disappointed in portion size. Both dinners combined weighed a pound or less. The chimichanga shell was very soggy and chewy, impossible to cut without a knife. The enchiladas verde same thing, though I will admit the verde sauce was the real deal and nicely tangy. Seriously $29.00 total (take out so no tip, especially after waiting an extra 15+ minutes) and one petite grandmother could have polished them both off in one setting easily.
Sorry, my first and only visit thus far was very disappointing. Will try it again at a later date and see how...
Read moreFirst time in this new Mexican restaurant and very pleasantly surprised with everyone! Food was fresh made from scratch with sides in Carne asada tacos the authentic Mexican way with fresh cilantro and onions, and limes to squeeze over the tacos! The pickled onions and hot sauce were delicious and hot! The rice was nice and flavorful with refried beans on the side, everything paired perfectly for a wonderful meal and the service was great too. Nice and friendly staff, would definitely recommend this place for everyone looking for good Mexican food...

The spice level was perfect for both of us. The best part of the experience was by far the staff, who was extremely attentive and kind to us. We look forward to coming back to Onekama to eat here again. If you are in town, stopping by...
