The Licking Food Court — Restaurant in Opa-locka

The young lady who was working looked irritated and annoyed with my family walking in.

She had a couple young men in and out the restaurant the whole time we were visiting the establishment. Happy face smiles and laughs when they walked in.

We are from out of town and she created a atmosphere where honestly if we didn’t go to two other places to attempt to get “southern style” food, we would of walked out just by the way she greeted us.

The food took FOREVER. And that’s no exaggeration. When we waited almost 40 min for our food, my daughter’s breakfast burrito was still missing. When that came another 10-15 min when most my food I let her eat and the rest of my family was done eating, they forgotten to STILL give us our shrimp rice. By then my family was already waiting in the car for me and the rice we never should have ordered.

While waiting for the rice, the rest of her coworkers walked into work. And then visited by her male friend again who even asked “Dang, this lady still hasn’t gotten her food yet?”

Now, you want to see what a restaurant like this “SHOULD BE LIKE”, search The Locker room in Houston or The Court Cafe in Vegas or their other location in Los Angeles . I don’t recommend the licking especially if I’m paying over $140 for food and getting my change from $200 in all...

I never in my life can recall being charged Gratuity for a to go order, I literally did the whole job. I walked in there myself. I placed my order myself. I grabbed my food myself. I waited myself, so why would I pay gratuity when I service myself besides taking my order and then 15% so when I called and I asked to speak to a manager, she said the manager is not here then I said when will they get in they hang up on me so I called back I say ma’am why did you just hang up on me? She said oh I heard static so I hung up so I said OK in my head I know she was lying so I asked when will the manager be in? She said tonight they work night shift I said so is no manager throughout the day only at night she said yes so instead of waiting in the middle of the night, which I know they’re busy and I won’t get a hold of a manager. I’m putting this up for people to go the food is OK I’m not gonna lie about that but don’t charge me for service gratuity. When I did work not one time did she say you will be charged gratuity nor did it say on the menu and that is definitely against the law. I need to speak to someone ...

I can't rate the food, only went to pick up a preorder for delivery. BUT I can rate my experience w/their service... Horrendous. When I got there, 3 customers wait'n @ counter. No employees present to tend to customers. They were all in the back/kitchen. After 8min, an employee came out to counter. I felt invisible. Had to ask for order 3 times. Was told it'd be ready in 5-10min. 12min later, I asked again. They said 10 more min. 12min later, had to ask again. They said 10 more min. After waiting 32 min total, I had to cancel. At no point did anyone apologize for extreme delay. Even the only expressions I witnessed were indifference. I wasted gas & time going there. I'm certain they won't care about 1 more bad review.
