Bake Me A Cake — Restaurant in Orange City

I ordered a cake from here for the first time for July; and its going to be the last time. I had a few bakeries to chose from and I chose this one because It had the best reviews. But sadly my experience was not a good one still. My cake was beautiful. It was just what I envisioned. But the taste of the cake was terrible. None of my relatives could eat it. Not one. The chocolate was sour, almost like vinegar. And the vanilla tasted like cornmeal. Not tasty at all. My son loves chocolate and even he did not like it. The customer service was not great either. After telling them about the cake the first thing they respond with is that they have been in business for 20 years and never recieved a complaint. Firstly, that is very hard to believe. And secondly, that is not what you should tell your paying customer. An apology should be the first thing they should respond with. I asked for at least half of what I paid and they insulted me with only 20% (a measly $18 out of $90). How is that fair? The whole cake went in the trash and I had to buy a $22 cake from Publix. Half would have been fair. Full refund would have been the correct amount since all of it went in the trash. Never again will I order from them. I'll stick with Publix. You may have been in business a long time with almost no blemishes, however you failed to fix your error correctly now I will never give you my business again nor will I recommend you to any of my friends. Something went wrong with my cake. I don't know how but it did and that $18 was a slap in the face. Wasted so much of my hard earned money. Long story short Mercedes service is soo worth it! Top notch! I can’t wait to use her service again and shes apart of an organization that arranges baking classes with well renowned bakers!🤩 Initially there was a schedule mix up, which I was disappointed on. But they went over an beyond with there customer recovery. When I got re-scheduled for the next day. Mercedes immediately greeted me with a warm embrace😊. I immediately forgot why I was disappointed 😆. She sat me down ,pulled out a sketch book and got all the info she needed from me to make the Graduation Cake I envisioned come alive.Then tailored it based on the theme and flavors i mentioned or chose. I could not be any more satisfied with the results. The Graduate that received the cake absolutely adored it. Loved it soo much the Oreo cookie Winnie the Pooh was holding went missing(last picture). Her family and friends thoroughly loved the cupcakes as well. So much that they began a game of guessing the ingredients after each bite 😋. Preparing for our Baby Reveal Party / Baby Shower was so stressful ! But, Bake Me A Cake was extremely friendly, and helpful. They just asked me for the theme and design I wanted, and picked it all up from there. Our theme was Bumble Bees (the cake being a literal beehive). Bake Me A Cake, did an outstanding job ! The outcome of the cake was above and beyond what we expected. I personally dislike fake-kid-looking cakes, and want them to look as realistic as possible. Bake Me A Cake did just that; Chocolate molded Bee's were swarming it, and branches with flowers made it pop beside the hive, making it look even more realistic !

My only reasoning to not mark it a fifth star, would be the customer service. I really wanted cake pops instead of cupcakes, but because one of the employees said she was tired from making a batch from a different party earlier in the week, she refused to make them for me. I feel that if I'm paying for a service, I should be able to pick what I want for...
