We have ordered pizza for pick up plenty of times but this time we decided to go and sit down at the restaurant to enjoy it fresh. That didn’t happen. Welcoming atmosphere? Absolutely not. We sat for at least 15 minutes before anyone came to check on us. And when the waitress did come? Unbelievably nasty and rude. She barely let us finish ordering before she walked away from us. My husband was trying to hand her his menu she didn’t even notice from how fast she left. She did not come ONE TIME to check on us. Every other table, people are being checked on constantly. Our ONE pizza took over ONE HOUR to make. We are watching pizzas being picked up in and out of the door while we sit and wait for ours. We had our two young children with us. It was our only day off to enjoy a meal together as a family. We work hard for our TIME and MONEY. After the waitress never came to check on us. I had to CALL HER OVER, to ask for them to box our pizza to go and for the check because we were ready to leave even though we didn’t get our food. I was trying to ask for refills on our waters as well, before she walked away again! While I was speaking. I have never experienced such a nasty rude “lady” if that’s what you want to call her. ABBY. You are nasty. Rude. No one should ever be treated like that so disrespectful! Especially a mom who has young kids, she didn’t even ask me one time if I need anything. But made sure to tend to every other table besides ours. We are understanding people, but not when it comes to treating someone poorly. We are all the same. We will not be returning. And Abby. You are not pleasant on the inside, or out. Most unpleasant waitress we...
Read moreMaybe it was just a bad day/night based on the previous reviews of today, but we had a terrible experience. We arrived mid afternoon to a mostly empty place—blonde bartender who appeared to be the manager maybe? If not, she sure thought she was by the way she bossed everyone around. Incredibly rude to everyone, including other employees (good thing her boyfriend was going to be the bar back tonight though—maybe she won’t be rude to him.) An older gentleman came up to the bar to try to get a drink, as him and his wife were sitting at a table for quite some time with no service and she snapped at him staring “sir, you have a waitress and she’s in the bathroom. She will be there soon and you can order from her.” That waitress came out on her phone a short while later and needless to say, the older couple left. You just don’t treat people that way. It started to get busier and we witnessed the chaos of people standing at the door as mentioned in previous reviews and the lovely blonde screaming “it’s seat yourself, guys!!!” We live near by and have zero interest in returning. It’s too bad, as I hear the pizza is great. Service needs to align to that though. We didn’t order pizza since we were immediately turned off by the terrible service…but it appears they ran out tonight. You’re a pizza restaurant, plan accordingly and don’t run out of pizza. A bazillion other pizza places have figured out how to do that, maybe...
Read moreAlright, we’re out here—Sexton’s Pizza, Evans Farm. Heard a lotta buzz, people calling it top-tier in Columbus. Let’s see if it lives up to the hype.
Ordered the MIKE!: fresh mozzarella, whole milk mozzarella, pepperoni, Mike’s Hot Honey, and fresh basil. That’s a heavy hitter lineup—classics done right, if you know what you’re doing.
First bite—bang. Crust is killer. Charred, bubbly, perfectly cooked, slight flop but solid undercarriage. That’s what you want. Sauce? Bright and balanced. Cheese blend? Smooth melt, nice contrast between the fresh and whole milk mozz.
Pepperoni? Crispy little grease cups—top-tier stuff. And the hot honey? Sweet with a kick, just wraps everything together. Only complaint? Gimme more basil. Not a lot, just enough to freshen it up a bit more.
Also got wings—juicy, crispy. Parmesan fries came out wrong but credit where it’s due—they fixed it right away. That’s how you handle service.
Atmosphere? Spot’s clean, cool place to hang. Not pretentious, just solid neighborhood pizza with execution.
So here’s the deal—this is a strong 8.2. One of the best pizzas in Columbus, hands down. Dial in that basil and we’re flirting with...
