The Freeze (used to be Tastee Freez, still the same owners at this location) has delicious food, quite a bit more pricey than need be, but it does taste good. I used to think they were a nice small town restaurant that was a good fit for the community and I loved to go there, but they changed my opinion about them. They definitely need to treat their customers better.
1.) I wanted some seasoned french fries, so we went here on a Sunday night. We ordered 2 burger meals (1 plain cheeseburger & 1 plain bacon double cheeseburger) and 1 chicken nugget meal, all 3 with seasoned french fries. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. When we finally got it none of the fries had seasoning on them, so my husband had to take them back to the walk-up window to get that put on. Then, I noticed the double bacon cheeseburger didn't have any bacon on it, so my husband went back and asked for the bacon and when the lady inside told the cook our burger was missing the bacon the cook very obviously rolled her eyes, in plain view for my husband to see (rude, disrespectful customer service). Then, we were only given two pieces of bacon. Not a good way to run a restaurant or treat customers.
2.) My aunt and uncle, who are/were some of the sweetest and friendliest people you could ever meet, used to go there on Sunday afternoons (for years, I suppose). Then, my uncle passed away very suddenly from stage 4 lung cancer, within a month of being diagnosed with it. That next Sunday, after he passed, my aunt still went there, alone. We had a benefit yardsale and bakesale to raise money to pay for bills and such to help my aunt out. Several community businesses donated to it (products or gift cards we could raffle off), but Tastee Freez wouldn't donate anything at all (yes, we asked) and the owners wouldn't even contact me back. That showed me that they didn't care about their community or their loyal customers, even in the most difficult times of their customers lives. It greatly changed my view of them and I was sorely...
Read moreThis place is infuriating. 2 days in a row I had a terrible experience. Yesterday I walked in at 10:27 and there was a guy ordering breakfast in front of me. By the time he was done it turned exactly 10:30 to which i was told "were now serving lunch only starting right now you can't order breakfast" I'm like.....ok? So I order. A double cheeseburger basket. As I'm sitting there waiting about 8 minutes later a lady comes in with her daughter and asked if they're still serving breakfast, they initially said no so the lady left. Then 5 mines later comes back and says its fine she'll just order lunch, then they say "oh actually we can still make you breakfast its fine." So she orders a family worth of breakfast. Which annoys me. I couldn't order breakfast THE SECOND it turned 1030 while I was already in line but she can order her whole family breakfast 15 minutes after me? I don't make a scene i just let it go. Meanwhile the guy before gets his food, the woman gets her whole family food of breakfast, and another couple who ordered after me gets their food. Meanwhile I'M STILL WAITING. I finally get my "double cheeseburger basket" 28 minutes after ordering. And its literally 2 separate individual cheeseburgers and some fries. Never heard of a place call "double cheeseburger" and its 2 single cheeseburgers. Which the food is solid but not great by any standard.
So today I get there a 845am to order breakfast. Their menu describes NOTHING as in what the baskets, combos, platters include. I order a "pancake platter w sausage" for $9. The picture of the platter shows i think pancakes, bacon, eggs, and has Browns. In reality you're platter is only 2 pancake and 2 nearly burnt sausages. That's it. Not what I'd call a "platter" Meanwhile I ordered eggs which cost extra, and a biscuit which costs extra. My total came out to over $15. And didn't get hash browns. The ONLY reason I give 2* is the food being somewhat...
Read moreStopped here for lunch. It’s fast food. Atmosphere is retro old school diner style. Tables, chairs, stool and countertop seating. Stools are chrome diner style and countertop reaches around perimeter of dining area. Windows are large and offer a good view of the outside. People that work here are friendly and attentive. Quick to take my order. Expect to eat here and spend time looking out at the Seminole Trail as vehicles drive-by. Restaurant is clean and looks maintained. I got a Big Tee Burger meal. That’s a Big Tee burger, 16 ounce fries in a cup and 20 ounce drink. The Big Tee is 2 burgers with 3 buns. It’s Cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce, thousand island dressing. I got mine with no cheese. Bun is sesame seed. Sandwich was ok but I really didn’t taste the thousand island dressing. At one time time I did peel away the roll to see if the dressing was on there. It was there, but not a lot. The middle role got somewhat mushy while I was eating the sandwich. Too much grease maybe from the burgers. Fries were good. I always enjoy fries in a cup. I just think it was too expensive for what I got. $16.10 for this. Too much. Will drive past this place...
