Wow. The breakfast and experience this morning was an absolute disappointment to say the least. Had we known the business had been sold we never would have come here. We fully support the previous people. Victoria, Tyler, and all the rest of them dean included, were what made this place great. You guys obviously have zero passion for the place. I highly recommend everyone to scroll through the “newest” reviews, and read the ones from the people who used to work here. Reading the responses from the new owners is absolutely disgusting. You've obviously shot yourself in the foot, and then put it in your mouth.
We’ve been coming here for over a decade, and not once had a bad experience, and were always warmly welcomed by the servers with smiles.
Seeing this place absolutely a ghost town on a monday morning is unheard of, which should have been the first red flag.
For starters, we ordered the usual, bacon and eggs, toast and hashbrowns. Specified bacon crispy, and hashbrowns crispy. Food arrived in about 15 mins, considering the place was completely dead. As the server was setting the food on the table, immediately we noticed; the bacon was not crispy in the slightest and had been reduced to 3 sad looking pieces rather than the typical 5. The hashbrown were absolutely white. Zero crisp to them.
Upon mentioning this to the server, she just laughed and said “oh”. When she came to give us the check, she didn't even mention that we had hardly touched our plates, we may have had 4 fork fulls of our breakfast. Not a peep from her, except do you want boxes. Unreal.
Obviously Aaron and Katie have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and are doing a shiesty disservice to Dean convincing him to let you keep the name in a sad attempt to trick all of the regulars. The lack of give a deuce was really appalling, and we will not be coming back, and will advise our friends and family who have been coming here for over a decade who have yet to hear that it was sold, to also not bother. Change the name to something else and have some decency.
My one regret is that i didn’t take pictures.
P.s i forgot to mention there were shells in one of the plates of scrambled...

Menu changes, price hikes, smaller portions, no salads with certain meals, hamburger bun top was dry and crumbly. And they choose the whitest lettuce to add to it. And I’m not impressed with the wait staff. I found her unfriendly and not terribly attentive. Had to ask several times to refill my coffee and other things. And the specials are so expensive now! I wasn’t expecting it to stay exactly the same but this isn’t my Deans. Don’t fix what wasn’t broke. Going through the reviews from other old time patrons I can see I’m not alone! And to read some of the responses from the new owners is so unprofessional! … “Dean's Homestyle Cafe (Owner) 2 months ago “Thank you for posting Sherry. As the new owners we are sorry you feel this way after being terminated for lack of work. Feel free to reach out to us in person at the restaurant anytime. We have not changed prices, all the same mugs and new bright cheery staff. Please don't post negativity online because your friends sold the restaurant and you lost your job.”

I don't think the wait is typically much longer than 8 or 10 minutes (obviously depending on how many are in your party and how many are already on waiting list.) you may have to park around back but there are more parking spaces and there are tables so you should never have to fight for a spot. I don't remember seeing any handicap spots, and I think there was 3 or 4 porch steps to go up but I don't remember seeing a ramp.
Keep in mind, it's cash only (sign on the front door says no debit or credit cards), so make sure to hit the ATM or get a little cash back on a previous purchase before heading over!
Friendly service, it appears to be a family affair or people who get along like family; I can't tell the difference. everyone seems to enjoy their job and they all hustle to try and get a lot of people through as quickly as they can.
The food quality is consistent and the portions are adequate, or more than adequate, for the price, which is what keeps us wanting to come back. For example, I was able to get two breakfasts out of my country fried steak, including one of my poached eggs, (though I could've ordered another side of hash browns for that 2nd meal.) Although my boyfriend who is a much heartier eater, also ordered the chicken fried steak last time, and after skipping the toast, still had to force feed himself the last 6 bites to get the whole thing down in one sitting.
There are just too many things on the menu that look good, so if you have a chance to look over the menu while waiting for your table or look online before heading over it might be a good idea to narrow your choices down before you get seated!
They have a few odd non-food items around that you can buy too, like some really nice carved wood bowls, buckets and or...
