The Basecamp Grill — Restaurant in Oregon

WORTH READING: My sister and I were out enjoying our afternoon together, we had both never been to "The Base Camp Grill" before.The gentleman that took our order was great, he disappeared afterwards. An older lady came in, she went back to the kitchen came out with 2 ribs saying she was going to go give them to her best friends. She walked outside to a vehicle. She was giving them to her pets.We smiled at each other, as she passed by. Then she came in and went to work in the kitchen,along with a young lady that was also a cook, the young lady was also great,we spoke a little. This older lady, I am thinking was the owner at this point.Only telling you this because I am trying to give her a title. I had ordered a South Face Burrito.This same older lady brought us our food. I noticed my burrito had guac on it, I looked up at the menu board once again, I knew when I ordered I read it correctly and it clearly says: guac and salsa come on the SIDE! I am allergic Before she left the table and walked away I said "I'm sorry I can't eat this" "I have food allergies" I explained that the menu board states that guac and salsa comes on the side, or I would of said NO GUAC. She immediately screamed at me in front of everyone "THIS IS BULLSHIT, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!" I was floored! I thought I didn't hear her right. She picked up the plate, looking at it, threw it down in front of me yelling again "THIS IS BULLSHIT SO I SUPPOSE YOU NEED ANOTHER ONE! YOU CAN'T EAT THIS ONE?"" THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT!' shaking her head no. She walked away.Everyone is starring. My sister looked over at me and our mouths both dropped, my sister stated I am so sorry. This older lady came back to the table violently grabbing the plate taking it back to the kitchen. I got up, followed her and calmly stated " I am not trying to be picky, I have FOOD ALLERGYS, I don't feel like taking a trip to the hospital today by ambulance." If looks could kill. She was not understanding anything I had explained. I said don't bother making me another one, I don't want one. She screamed at me again "DO YOU WANT ONE OR NOT?"then screams"IT'S TO LATE!" I mean at the top of her lungs!!! and then went to the register,shaking acting totally looney! I don't know this lady but wow she needs HELP! She got the money out of the till, slamming it at me on the counter. I walked over to my sister and nodded for her lets leave. As I walked by the counter again I looked at her, I said " I have never seen anyone in my entire LIFE be as UNPROFESSIONAL AS YOU!" and I walked away with my pride! She was still shaking her head NO!!! I have never seen such HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE! Or dealt with anyone as RUDE and OUT OF LINE! I don't know this lady and don't want to! I would recommend eat...

I stopped at The Base camp Grill by accident. It was dark and we had gone off the beaten path to look at a truck for sale and decided to stop and eat before getting back on the highway. It was a pleasant, casual decor and their fare is sandwiches. There was quite a variety to choose from and my friend got a Rueben and I ordered a Chicken Cordon Blue. She had water with lemon slices and I had coffee. Both sandwiches were delicious, on appropriate bread, with real French fries cooked to perfection and 6 condiments on the table. And the coffee was strong and fresh. I could only eat half and took the rest with me. The bill was $22 - well worth it. Only disappointment was no desserts except big cookies. They did have milk shakes on the menu. I'll stop there again in Sunriver next...

We used to love it here and come all the time, then it went under new ownership and the quality went downhill. I have food allergies and they cooked my scramble with tater tots instead of the normal diced potatoes and I didn't know until I brought my food home since I'd ordered to go. I called to make sure there wasn't any wheat in the tater tots and he assured me there wasn't and that the oil it was fried in was a new batch. I'm not that sensitive, I can eat a little bit of wheat and be fine. About half an hour later I was not surprised when I got horrible stomach cramping and was sick the rest of the day. I don't know what ended up being in it but unfortunately I can't go here again and risk being made that sick. I miss having a breakfast place I could count on to not...
