First time here for birthday dinner, party of 3. My two guests had never been to a prime steakhouse. I've been to many, and my expectations are high if I'm paying that kind of money. Easily made reservations online. Easy to find, easy free covered parking. Grounds are attractive and immaculate. Very nice waiting area with spotless restrooms. Warmly greeted by hostess, seated immediately. Place is tastefully decorated, music at perfect volume. Comfortable tables and chairs. Perfect lighting. Server was prompt, helpful and friendly from start to finish. Menu is a bit limited right now due to the current virus situation and supply issues, not their fault. But all the good stuff is still available. Ordered lobster bisque for an appetizer, was fantastic, very rich. Mains, we ordered 14oz ribeye, 20oz bone-in ribeye, and 16oz filet, all medium-rare. Steaks were cooked absolutely perfectly, and seasoned perfectly. Typing this is literally making my mouth water thinking about it. The filet is about 4" thick, not easy to cook something like that to taste, but they did it. The steaks can be eaten without teeth, they are so tender. All the steaks come with choice of potato. My two guests chose the garlic smashed potatoes which I should've gotten because they were fantastic. Instead I got the skillet fried potatoes which I didn't much care for, too strong of a caramelized onion flavor. Also included is a glazed carrot, which I wasn't sure about at first, not a fan of carrots, but these were great, tasted almost like pumpkin pie. We also got the asparagus which was good and cooked perfectly, just needed a little salt. Drinks were great too, water is filtered and tasted great, iced tea was great, and a lemon alcoholic mixed drink was also very good. Freshly baked bread is also provided, which was great with a crisp crust and super soft center, and a side of soft butter. My mouth is watering again thinking about that. Dessert was on the house for the birthday girl, and she chose the recommended carrot cake which we shared, and was the best we've ever eaten. We couldn't finish everything, the food really is just too rich, and the portions are generous. Boxes were provided for take home. Bill came and it wasn't cheap, but worth every cent for the occasional treat like this. If I had to give any criticism, I'd say maybe serve the steaks on slightly larger plates, and provide slightly sharper knives. Other than that, I cannot think of anything else. We will be returning. Easy 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Great job Bob's, we had a...
Read moreI tried this steakhouse to celebrate an early Valentine's Day with my wife as I will be deployed out of state for a Military Excercise before the 14th. The food and wine we ordered were great but I cannot say the same for the service we received that night, which unfortunately, spoiled my evening! The waiter serving us had suggested a soup and lobster tail main course that was off the menu, so my wife decided to give it a try. But the lobster tail did not make it to our dinning table as the waiter only ordered the soup and forgot about the lobster! So sensing that something was amiss after I had finished my steak and my wife's dish had not been served I decided to check with the staff. Believe it or not, we tried for minutes to get the attention of the waiter and waitresses but they were all "busy" with their chores and serving and clearing other tables that our need to get their attention were missed, just my poor stroke of luck as I had requested to switch to a corner table! Finally, we managed to get the attention of a waitress, who was not our server and she submitted the order for the lobster dish. So, at the juncture, it was apprent that the dish was not ordered initially! Our apologetic waiter returned after learning of the situation from his colleague and offered a scoop of ice cream to my wife, I refused it as I can very well afford desert! But my wife, trying to minimize the upset and disappointed state that I was in, accepted it. As mentioned, it could have been a pleasant experience if not for the lapse of attention, which resulted in the poor service we received. I will definitely not patronize this restaurant anymore, less introduce...
Read moreWhat a lovely way to enjoy an amazing quality steak dinner, in a coronavirus careful way! We were able to make reservations via Open Table which was nice and we normally do not venture this far west from our home in Vail but we wanted a nice dinner and we wanted steak.
Located in a beautiful area on the west side, sitting at the edge of a golf course we were immediately impressed with Bob's and the protocols they had in place during the pandemic. Tables well spaced apart, and servers wearing masks the ambiance was that of a quality top notch steak house.
There were four of us, we opted for indoor seating but they did appear to have outdoor seating as well. We started with the calamari and onion rings (half order). WOW. I am a die hard onion ring fanatic and these were so good. I am not a calamari fan like the rest of the table but I did try a piece or two and was shocked at how tasty and delicious it was. Just the right amount of seasoning in the light coating. We all had steaks, 2 of us had the 9 oz filet, 1 the NY strip and 1 the rib eye. All were cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth. The carrot was divine and the potatoes heavenly. I went with the smashed potatoes but tried the skillet potatoes which were incredibly delicious. While we all had enough food left over for another meal and asked for some boxes, we went with our server Jessica's recommendation of the carrot cake. It was so good (she told us a bakery makes all of their desserts), and we took almost the whole thing home as it was gargantuan.
From service to atmosphere to food it was 90 minutes of culinary...
