Bad night at The View. To be fair, this could have been more of a one off evening and circumstance. It was a Friday night. We had a party of 5. Three of us arrived and were offered a choice of 2 seatings. The first table was very loud due to the music we could not hear each other across the table so immediately asked for our other option which was the first table as you walk in. It started out well, our server took our drink and Nacho order at 5 50. We also asked for waters at this time. The drinks came, but they were out of martini glasses, and it was served in a water glass. No waters. 6:10 the other 2 people in our party arrived. 6 20 nachos arrived. We put in an order or a bottle of wine for 2 and another beer. Wanted to put our meal order in. Asked if the fish was fresh, server did not know. Ordered 2 chicken picatta, salmon dish, liver dish and another dish. 15 min later server came back stating out of liver and delivered the wine. Needed menu for new selection. Still no waters no beer. Asked for waters again. Came back with menu and left. Went to reservation desk and asked for waters. Eventually, the 2 chicken picatta dishes came out. No ber. Water or salmon yet, server still had not taken replacement order for liver. At this time, another server was there and took the order for another Salmon, the water and the beer. 2 of us could eat. 5 to 10 minutes later the next dishes arrived. Meals half eaten and 1 salmon dish was delivered. They ended up sharing dish. Final salmon dish did not come out until after first 3 people had finished their meal. Took Salmon to go. Nachos and meals were good. 1 salmon was removed from the bill. This did not make up for the service and delivery timing of the meals. Restaurant was full when we first arrived, but tables were clearing out, so it was not at full compactly the majority of time we were there. We did later learn there were 2 new cooks and it was the servers' first full night. Ok, bad circumstances. Hopefully, they won't have all new people at once in the future. We may go back, but it will be a while before...
Read moreBeen coming here for the past 10 years while visiting my brother and treating a group of around 10-12 friends when I come to town. I will NEVER come here again nor will any of my guests. This place is a joke - when we asked for hot coffee she poured 1/4" hot coffee on top the ice cold coffee she served us and copped an attitude when we asked again for HOT coffee, she finally brought new cups with hot coffee. Let's get to the breakfast we all ordered - a 40 minute wait - yes ice cold! The manager was nice and had the cook redo all the breakfasts - now let's talk about the servings and size -1 order of eggs burnt the other 3 breakfast eggs ordered were fine. Hash browns - excuse me what hash browns? There wasn't more than a table-spoon size helping of hash browns, I'm not kidding just how cheap can you get? - unreal! I had ham 1/4 of a slice 1/4" thick. They raised the prices($11.50) for this breakfast and cut way back on the portions and I mean really cut back on the serving size - there wasn't $10 worth of food between 10 of us. That's OK they lost 10 of us from returning and how many more from us telling our friends not to come here. And to top it off the waitress refused to ever come back to refill our coffee and never would make eye contact the entire time. I just wish I would have taken photo's so you could really get a idea what I'm trying to share with you. IT WAS TERRIBLE! The Views Restaurant you have ruined a great place for gatherings and good meals - I can only comment on breakfast and can't comment on lunch and/or dinner since I or my guests won't be coming back for either of those meals. Hopefully they correct things before they totally run this place into the ground....
Read moreI brought my visiting, VIP family in for dinner. In fact they were longing for chicken and dumplings.
There were four of us. Two of us had the Monday special; chicken and dumplings. One of us had the shrimp fajitas. I ordered the Lemon Chicken Piccata; gluten free with Mashed potatoes and veggies. Two of us also ordered chicken dumplings to go for our spouses at home. We ordered six meals total.
The chicken and dumplings were awful; it was mostly white rice, very little chicken and almost no dumplings. It didnât taste like chicken at all. They all threw it out, or didnât eat much of it. FYI, rice doesnât belong in Chicken and Dumplings. It looked and tasted like pasty prison food.
The Shrimp Fajitas were fine, except they were served with white rice (did you make too much white rice) and did not have Pico de gallo or sour cream. The beans were all dried up. Did you know you can add water or broth and revive beans that have dehydrated??? Mexican food side dishes matter. Mexican rice is not white. Pico de gallo and sour cream are condiments for this dish in all Mexican restaurants.
My lemon chicken piccata was prepared beautifully and tasted great. The sauce was lemony and the perfect consistency.
Dom was our waiter and he was great.
Please do better. Youâre charging enough; they should be prepared well. This wonât happen...
