Walnut Street Coffee and Deli — Restaurant in Oskaloosa

I stopped here for an espresso as I was driving through. The drink was good, service was friendly, and the atmosphere seemed really cute at first, until I looked up and saw two enormous bible quotes painted on two interior walls, and also noticed they were playing what sounded like ethereal hymnal music on the speakers. Look. I have no problem with Christianity - or anyone’s faith for that matter - but when I enter a place of business, I don’t particularly enjoy having ones’ religious views imposed upon me with such grandeur. Food was good but pretty pricy! Atmosphere nice and rustic, comfortable seating. I think the religious music was a bit too much though. There's so many different religions and beliefs in the world today, I have respect for all beliefs but from a business perspective I don't think it's a wise choice since you want to welcome all into your business. The hours of operation are minimal. It would be nice if they were open later in the day during the week or all day on Saturdays. Was on a mototcycle ride around Perry lake and noticed all the cars parked outside this coffee shop and thought there must be something to this place. Stopped in and had a fantastic sandwich and the best cold vanilla latte ive ever had. You cant beat the incredibly reasonable prices. They staff was amazing and couldn't have been more friendly.
