The atmosphere is pleasant and the vibe is light and cozy. The antiques hanging from the wall, (a common motif in the area) aren’t creepy and some kind of mythological creature who’s existence is somewhat questionable. The food was called The Southern and although it could have used salt and pepper was very reminiscent of a real Biscuits and gravy breakfast. However there are subtle differences to keep the cost at $10.99 instead of say $17.50 for real biscuits, grits, gravy and two poached eggs. The real plate is absolutely delicious and is usually only found south of the border. However their attempt at a southern classic was very reasonably priced and delicious, the white gravy could like I said use more sea salt however the English muffin as the biscuit substitute was buttered and was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a reasonable breakfast to start their day. Thank you and the coffee was good!! Great job! Sincerely...
Read moreWe've been here before, wasn't thrilled about the food then (3 yrs ago) but today the food was really good, wouldn't change anything about the food, however the issue came when we got our bill.
We were aware of the prices of our omelettes but the lack of any combos/plates for kids or even adults was sad, outside of the omelettes it was pretty much a la carte. A single pancake with chocolate chips for a kid was $6 and didn't Include anything, no kid meals or drink. So just for our 3 kids that totalled 18 just for their single pancakes, plus $8.37 for all 3 kid size drinks.
Two of our omelettes we had to pay to add onions, cheese, and peppers where usually that's included ($1 per ingredient!)
Sorry we won't be back again, $91 was way too much considering we can go anywhere else and get the same exact...
Read moreDid some shopping today in Ossipee, NH and headed back to Maine around lunch time. We had decided on the way to NH that we would stop at this restaurant for lunch today. What a great place for lunch and/or breakfast. Very clean, great service, has a full liquor license, great menu. Come to find out that they just re-opened the restaurant in January. Fully gutted the restaurant and remodeled. Has 2 bars when you walk in and then 2 to 3 dining areas. My wife had one of the specials - Beans, Rice, Grilled Chicken, Black Beans, & Corn with pico and sour cream. I had the Greek Wrap with Chicken, Cukes, Fresh Spinach, Onion, Feta - Very good and very filling. I also ordered their french fries which were freshly cut. The portions were great as was the service. We plan on visiting again...
