Wholesome Dine-or-Dash — Restaurant in Otsego Lake Township

Don't blink and miss this place... you'll seriously regret it if this place goes belly up.

The simple name and signage does NOT do the delicious menu and awesome service justice, unfortunately. The name works, but the quality deserves a more in your face name I think.

But that's literally the only negative thing that can be said about this place.

It's one of the ONLY places that I know of in the area that is essentially FAST food service (meaning speed and efficiency, not rude staff) but with competely AWESOME homemade food.

If you want to eat inside, of course you can, (and it's certainly clean albeit a bit understated, but nothing special inside as far as ambiance goes). I mean, for one thing, it's literally attached to a fairly remote gas station off the I-75. But it rocks... seriously.

If you like home cooked-pulled pork, beef, chicken, and many other amazing mains, as well as delicious mouth-watering sides like red mashed potatoes, and homemade gravy, etc. but you also want to order, pay, and have it in your belly in 5 minutes, I don't think there's another place quite like it.

Heck, even the tasty "to go" pizza slices they have are amazing.

Our friends actually told us about it being really great food there, but prior to that? My wife and I weren't initially sure based solely on the unassuming name.

But trust me when I say, it really has great food... and the folks who serve it are very friendly.

This is a perfect example of the outside "packaging" not revealing the "amazing"...

The couple(Aaron and Katie) that own and operate this business are great. They are always friendly, and they always have the baby in tow, which is charming. They are very warm and clearly aim to please. They always seem upbeat, and all of this creates a warm, welcoming vibe in their establishment.

As for the food, I've never had anything from there that I was disappointed with. Typically, it's homestyle food but it's made with care and Aaron always adds some sort of special touch that shows he definitely knows what he's doing and cares a great deal. Sometimes they have specials, and those never fail to amaze me.

The pizza is delicious, and they are willing to do special orders for you. I love pizza, and this is currently my favorite place to get pizza.

If you go there, you have to try the garlic and feta dip. My wife can't get enough of it....we buy a lot. 100% give them a visit if...

This place has THE BEST FOOD! We stopped here on a whim, to get gas coming back up north. We smelled the food outside the station, and decided to check it out.

The owner was the kindest guy! He makes everything fresh! I was driving so he put the pulled pork and stewed roast in containers for me, and wrapped the bread on the side. I also got a large potato salad. It was fresh made, and with fresh basil even. My fiancé grabbed some fast pieces of pizza. It was ALL to die for.

He has pictures of his wife & new baby. Instead of tips, they have the diaper fund jar. I thought that was cute.

Over all, a great experience. We will absolutely be making this stop every trip to visit family...
