I've been coming to Gobblers since 1996 (Gaylord location: now permanently closed because owner cares about their staff). While wait times over the years have been upwards of a 1/2 hour, we were never disappointed by the service/food/prices/building. Young kids to middle-aged adults all rave about their respective meals. The Waters location, from a traveler perspective, is hands-down a better location than Gaylord. Today, for example, we pulled into a parking space, entered, were very warmly greeted, seated, served, cashed out and back out to our vehicle and on I-75 all in a matter of 35 minutes. That includes also going to get a box for leftovers and going back to get us a $7/dozen box of freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies. Ordered: Turkey Dinner "Gobbler" 12 oz Hot Turkey Sandwich Iron Horse Rootbeers Read some of the low reviews and have to say that if you aren't addressed after 5 minutes at Gobblers, don't act like a turkey with your beak up to the sky and drown, assume there is some human error at work and get up and ask someone for help. The drowning turkey thing is a myth by the way but while debunked, has some merit because domesticated turkeys are inbred and known to suffer a genetic defect that causes their neck to spasm and cause them to go beak up to the sky. I said what I said🤐. Another review berates Gobblers for running out of turkey on a Sunday night an hour ish before close. Not their problem you waited that long and expected them to have any left. They aren't THE destination for turkey dinners in Northern Michigan because they will have some left for entitled end of the weekend, an hour before close turkey dinner lovers. Your failure to plan doesn't constitute a failure on their part. Hey gravy glutton, did you bother to ask for more gravy, or did you just leave a bad review? Our dinners today (and always have) came with lots of gravy. In fact, there is usually much more gravy than I like, so I ask for it on the side. People like me don't want soggy bread, others want more of a "turkey sandwich soup." If you asked for more gravy and were denied, that's worthy of a review, but if you didn't, see entitled inbred turkey comment above. As we left today, the parking lot was filling up (1:05 p.m.), and people were filling up into both rooms. Staff was smiling and efficient. Kudos Waters Gobblers!!

* THEY AREN'T CLOSED! JUST RELOCATED! * Cute decor, delicious food, and an exceptional (family run) staff!!! My dad has talked about their turkey dinner for a couple years now since he first discovered this hidden gem. Tonight, while vacationing up north, he drove us an hour and half out of the way just to experience it again. We arrived in town and googled it - only to see it was closed. He was so bummed he decided to drive us past the location it had been at. Fortunately, we noticed, once there, they hadn't closed but rather have relocated. We drove to the new place and had a wonderful Turkey Dinner (reminds you of home cooking with Butterball Turkey and local ingredients). The staff in this family owned/operated restaurant were so unbelievably friendly! A true delight!

OMG!! Seriously!! Gobblers is GREAT! I got the baby turkey dinner and it was DIVINE!! Joe got the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes (small) and he said it was the best turkey dinner he has ever had!! For desert I had the "homemade' carrot cake... literally best ever.. We've seen Gobblers driving north on I-75 I wish we would have tried this place sooner!! We won't miss it again!! We will be back any time we come north... They moved from Gaylord to Waters right off of I-75.. open year round 7 days a week except Thanksgiving.. My only complaint is that the food came too fast!! (If that was really a bad thing LOL) 10 out of 5 Stars!!! Side note... Joe says "I'm so full I'm going to die" yea.. it's that good...

Same great turkey quality as the original location in Gaylord (now closed). Sandwiches are not on the menu, (long story, you can thank McDonald's) only wraps. But, they still include all of the same sandwiches they used to serve, in wrap form. Of course, turkey dinners with everything you'd expect and gravy laden hot turkey sandwich are the stars of the menu. The turkey noodle soup is homemade and very tasty, possibly a little on the salty side but it hits just right when it's what you crave. All of the desserts are homemade with oatmeal pie being one of their specialties. For an adventurous twist, try the wet turkey burrito, it's simple, exactly as expected, and big; one of my personal favorites. The service is usually pretty good with hits and misses here and there, just be patient; it can get oddly busy at times and the servers try the best they can. The kitchen seems to move quickly as the turkey is continually roasted throughout the day. When it's home cooking with a turkey themed twist you crave, this is the place to eat. At my last visit I noticed a lot of people ordering ahead and...

Omg !! Yum!This place is a great lil gem of a restaurant! Some google reviewer stated his opinion that the food was canned or frozen... The mashed potatoes are real the stuffing tasted real to me& my husband! I cook stove top every year I know it’s not stove top stuffing! This place will be added as a standard routine on the way stop on our way to the UP and on our way back home to western Michigan. It’s very good comfort food! We both got hen size all white meat dinner excellent dinner. Fast friendly service the owner waited on us he’s a sweet man! His son in law seemed very professional and kind as well! If you LOVE TURKEY YOU HAVE TO STOP here! They have other menus items too Beef or Turkey wet burrito. A lot of other food items too! I had the raspberry tea so good Hubby had the lemonade he said it’s just right! I believe it’s home cooking! The son in law said the buttermilk biscuits are his mother in laws recipe very 😋nice!I can’t wait to come back and try the carrot cake and pies ,oh and the home made cookies!!!!Highly recommend!!!A+++ NICE JOB!
