Each bite was a new level of disappointment. I can think of much better places to spend $120 on bbq or just in general. Even with the slide in Jack Stack's quality these past few years it is still way better. For that $120 we got 1lb of brisket, 1/2lb of burnt ends, 1/2 rack of pork ribs, 2 sausage links, four small sides, and a 32oz tea to drink while waiting.

I judge a bbq joint primarily by its brisket, and I haven't had such a crumbly overcooked dry mess since Papa Bob's there in Bonner Springs. This was after a 15min drive back to my house. I asked for a mid-slice or a point slice, and while they said they could do so, I still got a poorly trimmed piece of flat that ate like a poor choice eye of round roast.

The ribs... I wonder how you get ribs the size of baby backs with the knuckle intact like that... These were also a wildly overcooked mess and trashed unfinished. So either they are trying and failing to cook hot and fast, or they are not resting properly and cutting everything up at way too high a temperature.

Burnt ends are like most restaurants in KC, chopping up the point and calling all the edged pieces burnt ends. Also a disaster like the rest of the brisket they served. I feel pity for the cow ending up like that.

The BBQ sauce was alright, but it tasted like Kraft plain bbq sauce with some smoked salt added in. Good~ish, but I fail to actually see an award winning sauce like they display on the side of the building. Blue's Hog Smokey Mountain is still the best in that category, and you can get it cheaper all over now. There's really nothing about the three sauces I tried (the bold, chipotle, and honey) to effectively elevate it above the crowd of others in the immediate area.

Beans were so-so, I've had worse, but they are NOWHERE close to Jack Stack. The loaded potatoes casserole side wasn't bad, probably the best item of the meal, and the potatoes were cooked right, but still came off cheap with the dressing applied to it. Price Chopper does a better version.

The people working there that we briefly interacted with were nice. The lady behind the bar delivered good enough customer service I tipped her a small amount even though we ordered to go. Just wish the food had been better, especially for what I...

I know barbecue is very personal in Kansas City but let me tell you about a little hidden gem in De Soto. This place used to be at 119th and Metcalf. They moved it when the Panasonic plant hired hundreds of workers. De Soto is a quaint small town and there was definitely a need for more restaurants. This barbecue place has been a godsend to the people of De Soto and the workers at Panasonic. They’re burnt and have got to be hands down the best in Kansas City. I don’t care what the awards out there say they are juicy not fatty and the flavor is unbelievable another favor of mine or the ribs Tender juicy lots of meat. You get a lot for your money here and the sauces are amazing. This place has a full bar in the service is amazing. They do have outdoor seating picnic tables with umbrellas and yard games for the family. It’s a great place to come at any time lunch or dinner and I think they’re even open for breakfast now with the most amazing Burnt End breakfast BURRITOS!!! oh and they even have a drive-through, which makes it really convenient for people in the morning. They have delicious sides, such as their baked potato salad their baked beans have got to be the best baked beans in Kansas City. I know I keep ranting about this. But it really is just that good! This place is owned by PB&J restaurant Group who also own Yayas Euro bistro in Overland Park and another burnt in barbecue in Crown center downtown Kansas City. They also have an amazing catering company that caters weddings and special events of all sizes so get down to De Soto or crown center in I guarantee you will not be...

I don't even know where to begin. Five stars isn't enough to describe this incredible restaurant. If you're in the area and you have BBQ anywhere else, do your taste buds a justice and go to Burnt Ends. Hands down the most outstanding foods - from the way they make their toast to their tasteful blend of seasoning, Burnt Ends BBQ sets the standard for what this food SHOULD be. If you're one for atmosphere, you have no excuse to go anywhere else... A relaxed restaurant with sizeable tables, television, accessible drink fountains, condiments, flatware and boxes so you can just grab them. So much natural light in every location, too. I saved the best for last though... The staff makes you feel at home. Sean, I'm sorry if I spelt your name wrong, but wow. Thank you for your lively personality the moment we walked in the door. He asked our names, introduced himself, treated us like he'd known us for years. Everyone got involved in our order and it felt so seamless. Being called by our first names made us feel so incredibly welcomed. The owner is WONDERFUL. I went through and handed out some cash to each employee that worked with me to show a small gratitude, the owner said "What's that for? I'll put that in our tip jar. Everyone gets some. They all jump in and help and they all deserve it." Holy cow... Or holy pig? I am so blown away by the customer service, the business management, the food, the organization, the cleanliness. I can't wait to come back again. This is my favorite restaurant I've...

Service was great, we were greeted immediately at the door. The young person taking our order didn’t go out of their way to be friendly but the person who brought us our food was great. The wild rice was delicious but a little undercooked. I had to chew carefully to avoid chomping down on a hard grain. The veggies were cooked PERFECTLY. As a veggie lover I usually find that they’re too mushy or too crunchy. I’d argue that they’re harder to cook right than meat is because at least you can temp that. These were perfect texture, not too greasy, and tasted great. Coleslaw was one of a kind. I like that it wasn’t overloaded with mayo or white sauce. Mac and cheese was delicious, hubby said it was fire. The cheese sauce hardened on the plate after we were done which tells me they use high quality cheese. The BBQ sauces were pretty good, lots of options to choose from. The burnt ends were kinda dry. We recently had some from Biemers in Lawrence and they were much fresher there. We’re thinking that was probably one off thing and would try it again. Hubby really liked the fries, said they tasted like they were battered and seasoned lightly. The beans looked amazing, I wish we would of thought to order some or the front register helper would have suggested them. The gentleman cooking was grateful for our good feedback and really made our night. Overall, a great experience. We would return given the chance.

Arrived at 345 there was about 10 people in the whole place and 5 workers we did not see a server until we got someone's attention at 405 and she seemed surprised that we were there. Our server just walked in the door and was told we were her table. I think before she even clocked in. Then they brought us a Pepsi and an unsweet tea. And they came over a gave us cornbread bites. They kinda taste like funnel cake without the powder sugar. We ordered the burnt end nachos and the burnt ends were good it was a little spicy with the jalapenos on it. We also got the onion rings which were really good, the aioli sauce was good it had a nice sweet kick to the whole thing. The wife got the Monday special which was a double smash burger and fries with aioli sauce. I got the 2 meat combo with turkey and brisket with fried cornbread and Cole slaw. The brisket had the smoked flavor that you would look for in BBQ. And the turkey was just turkey not too much flavor. The cornbread was good and the Cole slaw was definitely not my favorite. In all we spent $45 even with the half price apps and the Monday special. May have to try a different location the food was good but the servers not soo much. This may be a one and done.

I went to Red Robin and became friends with bartender! He would tell me about the owner wife, would come in and pick food, she would talk to everyone, I would see the van parked outside, they own Red Robin and Burnt ends too, they have a store at Crown Center, Hospital hill, had them cater for the staff and runners too, it was good, Now, the Overland Park location, I started going at this location lots of time,I got to know several staff members and manger too, I enjoyed the 🍣, they had beer, it’s been over year since I went at the Overland Park location. I heard that this place had moved, I finally stopped in today, u can’t miss this place as u drive pass DeSota, big sign out front, I walked in and was blown away, this place used to be to big Burger King, I sat at the bar, 4 taps, bathroom are better, this place is completely different from nite and day look, customer came in to pick up their order,Yes, it’s slow but construction workers during the week, come in and eat here, 11:am to about 1pm, very busy, employees have new shirts too, about 4 different kinds, sometimes it’s good to move , must visit
