Edit: I would like to thank Sonny and Lauren for making this situation right. After posting my original review, they reached out to ensure that the situation was squared away, so we can start anew. Not only did they handle the circumstances with professionalism, they also made sure we received our original drink order, free of charge, after refunding the incorrect drink. I am happy they gave us a chance to tell our side of the sorry and use the situation as a learning moment for the crew. My husband and I are now planning to return, continuing to support the small business we’ve loved for years.

Original: This place has significantly gone down hill since the last time I visited. Stopped by today and was not once recognized by either of the girls behind the counter. After standing at the counter for several minutes waiting for my order to be taken, I gave up and used the kiosk. Another 15 minute wait after ordering and they called out my order name, but the drink was not at all what was ordered. When my husband asked for a refund on the incorrect drink, one of the girls got nasty with us saying that they were in the middle of a rush and the incorrect drink wasn’t her problem because that’s what was on the screen. We had a horrible experience this afternoon and we are so disappointed. We come to Chatime atleast two times per week and order the same two drinks every time. We have never had a single complaint. Today the girl taking the order was not listening very well while I was ordering. I had to repeat myself on multiple things. Unfortunately it resulted in them making the incorrect drink for me. I realized as soon as she handed it to me and immediately clarified that it was not what I had ordered. She said that she heard me order something else and told me that I must take the drink that she had made. She was not apologetic that I did not have the correct drink nor did she seem to care to rectify the situation. I went to the car upset but with no other option. My husband went back inside to clarify the situation and they made him pay for the correct drink and refused to refund the money or just make the correct drink at no cost. He was told “this is not my system. I just work here”. Very disappointed in how this employee acted and we are not sure we will continue our business with how we were treated today. Listen… if you haven’t been to Chatime in Overland Park, are you even living? I’ve tried boba all over the KC metro, but nothing beats a fresh classic milk tea from my favorite local spot—especially when it’s made by friends who actually care about what they’re serving.

The boba pearls? Always perfectly chewy. The tea? Smooth, not too sweet, just how I like it. And the best part? I get to support awesome people doing awesome things (and they still let me in even when I show up covered in sawdust after a job site 😅).

The shop vibe is always welcoming, clean, and laid-back—whether you’re solo or wrangling the whole family in for a bubble tea fix.

And the word on the street…they have this hip new boba tea catering cart that they can bring to your next event so all your friends and family can enjoy boba tea for that special day!
