It’s been years since I have been to el toro loco. The location has moved to a corner bigger lot with front door parking available which is a plus. The food is good and it’s not that expensive and their portions are what my husband would call “decent size”. I ordered the jalea large to share and we each orders lomo saltado , Bistec a lo Pobre and a chicken dish that looks like a stew. We also ordered half pitcher of sangria which wasn’t as strong a Puerto 27 or Limon . However, we ordered a pisco sour and just mixed it with the sangria and boy, it was a lot better. Would we come back? Definitely but make sure you are very hungry. Big portions.

Felt like having Peruvian slash Mexican. Of course, it was the weekend, and they had music for us to enjoy, of course , with our delicious meal. We ordered: Jalea al Marisco (to share) and each of us ordered our own dishes. Lomo. Saltado, fish taco meal and choros a la chalaca. Portions are huge for this location. Be prepared to have leftovers. Everything was yummy. For drinks: we ordered a 1/2 pitcher of sangria. We also added some pisco sour to make it less sweet and more stronger. I still think puerto 27 and limon still have then best sangria. Even though, we still will be back...
Read moreHad a Groupon to use, figured it was time to use it. We didn't have high hopes as we've been sadly let down numerous times with latin cuisine in Pacifica. We are glad we tried this place. It's such a hole in the wall sorta place, but the food is flavorful, huge portions for the price, and like home cooking (makes me wish I were Peruvian). I asked the server about their beverages and he suggested the purple juice (consists of all sorts of fruits and cinnamon) it's like a fruity horchata without the creaminess. I wanted a soup so he said his favorite is the chupe de camarrones because it's creamy, so I went with that as well. Seriously I was amazing, there were more than 6 shrimps in there (I started counting after I ate one), I almost never let go of my spoon and I finished the entire bowl. The server was in disbelief that I finished the whole bowl myself, it was that awesome.. buttery, rich goodness, it kept me full for hours. I will definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu. PS Peruvian dulce de leche ice cream.... YUMMY!! (only because they were out of tres...
Read moreUpon arrival this place was welcoming. Just off of the hwy and in a small neighborhood close to the beach. It started off well but ended up being some of the worst Mexican food I've had. They had 2 options either Peruvian or Mexican. I ordered Mexican. The salsa was bomb but i ordered a kids quesadilla, a shrimp taco plate and a fish taco plate. The tacos were good but small and my boyfriend FOUND A HAIR in his taco! The owner ( I assume) came to look at the hair and brought back a small plate to only take the taco away and he replaced the taco. Not much was said. Once our ticket was brought to us I was expecting to see a discount or some type of accommodation. We took the taco he brought back out of courtesy and just had hopes that they would have shown their customers a little more appreciation. Back to the food- beans and guacamole and rice were runny and the kids plate quesadilla was salty and came with pico de gallo and guacamole on the side , huh? I don't think I've ever seen a kids plate come with those options as most children don't eat...
