China King — Restaurant in Pacolet

I decided to try China King because of their online ratings. Well I for one don't think the positive reviewers have ever had Chinese food outside of Pacolet, SC. That having been said I must admit China King is the best Chinese food in Pacolet. Of course it's the only Chinese restaurant in Pacolet. I ordered the curry chicken combo, fried scallops and Szechuan shrimp. Well the scallops are the pre battered frozen affair you find in the frozen food section of a grocery store. They were very bland and didn't have the normal texture of scallops. I assume it's because they are frozen. The curry chicken... Well it consists of celery, carrots, onions, mushrooms, yellow rice and of course chicken; however, to be honest I couldn't taste any curry whatsoever. As for the Szechuan shrimp it was okay. It didn't really have spice to it so don't fear about it being spicy. Lastly, the egg roll was a bit over fried. All is not so bad as I found the rice to be delicious that's why I gave them 2 stars. My recommendation if you want Chinese food is to travel 15 minutes down the road to Cowpens and try China One. As for me I will not be returning...

China King is our go-to spot for delicious Chinese takeout! The food is always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Favorites in our house are the General Tso’s Chicken, Sweet N Sour Chicken, and Lo Mein. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick, even during busy times. Great portions and great prices. Highly recommend if you're looking for tasty Chinese...

This place is a hidden gem!! They have excellent fresh food, they're fast and cheap, their food is always consistent in terms of quality and taste, and they also have wonderful customer service. As a matter of fact, it's probably the best Chinese food we've had within 30 miles. We've tried many of their dishes and we've never been disappointed...our kids...
